Active Christian Emissary (ACE) Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Robert and Brenda Barkley established the ACE scholarship to support students who are enrolled in the University's religious studies major and whose beliefs are in alignment with the Statement of Faith of the Churches of God. Recipients shall be in their junior or senior year of study, be in good academic standing, and be active in one or more groups associated with the University's Campus Ministry.
Admiral Edward L. Feightner Leadership Scholarship
The family of Edward L. Feightner '41 established the Admiral Edward L. Feightner Leadership Scholarship Endowment Fund to support student leaders who participate in leadership roles in campus organizations, community non-profit organizations, or other local, state, or national service groups. Recipients can be in their current freshman or sophomore year of study and have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
AEP Foundation Endowed Scholarship in STEM Education
The AEP Foundation Endowed Scholarship in STEM Education was established by the American Electric Power Foundation to assist students enrolled in Accounting, Finance, or any major in the College of Health Professions, College of Pharmacy, or College of Sciences with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
AEP Foundation Findlay Forward Scholarship for EHSS
The AEP Foundation established this scholarship to support a student enrolled in the Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability program.
Alexandria “Ali” Gokey Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
The family, friends, and colleagues of Alexandra “Ali” Gokey established this scholarship to support a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in the Western or English Equestrian Program.
Allen Clopper Scholarship
The Allen Clopper Scholarship, established by Allen ’36 and Betty (Caskey ’36) Clopper, is an endowed scholarship that provides assistance to incoming freshmen who rank in the upper quarter of their high school class. Students should be planning to major in one of the physical sciences and/or mathematics. This scholarship is renewable providing students maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.
Allyson Busch ’09 Western Equestrian Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Belleau Farm and Adolphus A. Busch IV established the Allyson Busch ’09 Western Equestrian Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is to honor Mr. Busch’s daughter, Allyson, a 2009 graduate of the Western Equestrian program. Recipients must be full-time Western Equestrian studies students in any year of study and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Angela Brown Scholarship Endowment Fund
Angela Brown ’92 established this scholarship to encourage Christian engagement and support UF students who are active members in Campus Ministries. Recipients can be in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year of study at the University of Findlay with a grade point average, G.P.A. of at least 2.75.
Angela S. Brown Campus Ministries Program Endowment Fund
Angela Brown established this fund to provide support for the annual operations of Campus Ministries.
Animal Science Department Scholarship Endowment Fund
This scholarship was established by the faculty and staff of the University of Findlay’s Animal Science Department. Recipients can be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study at the University of Findlay with a grade point average, G.P.A. of at least 3.00.
Ann and L. Jack Ruscilli Football Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Ann (Colburn '65) and Jack '66 Ruscilli established this scholarship to attract and retain a Franklin County or neighboring county football recruit to play for the UF Oilers. Ann and Jack, both alums of the University of Findlay, were interested in giving something special back. Jack is a Trustee Emeritus of the UF Board of Trustees. The recipient shall have at least a 2.5 GPA.
Ann E. Bonifas Memorial Scholarship
The Ann E. Bonifas Memorial Scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of Ann Bonifas, former Director of Marriott Food Services at the University of Findlay. Recipient shall have financial need and be employed by food services a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Annabelle F., Earl, and Jennifer M. Williams ’71 Scholarship Endowment Fund
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Williams, and their daughter, Jennifer ’71, established this scholarship to support a student who is an Education major and is actively involved in the performing arts. The recipient may be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
A.R. and Mary Ann Charnes Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the University of Findlay's 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, A.R. '66 and Mary Ann Charnes established the A.R. and Mary Ann Charnes Basketball Endowment Fund to support the men's basketball program at the University. Mr. Charnes is a 1966 graduate of Findlay College/the University of Findlay and a Trustee Emeritus of the UF Board of Trustees.
A.R. and Mary Ann Charnes Student Life Endowment
Mr. A.R. ’66 and Mary Ann Charnes established the A.R. and Mary Ann Charnes Student Life Endowment Fund to allow students who might otherwise be unable to live on campus the opportunity to reap the many benefits of on-campus life, community and activities. Mr. and Mrs. Charnes believe there are so many benefits to beginning freshmen to live on campus and experience campus life that they wanted to set up an endowed fund to help students who might not otherwise be able to afford to live on campus and enjoy the experience. They feel that students who live on campus are able to get involved with activities creating an opportunity to develop the core personal values that can guide them for the rest of their lives. This scholarship will provide room and board assistance to a first-year, full-time freshman demonstrating financial need.
Arden H. and Dorothy L. Burgoon Scholarship
Through her bequest, Mrs. Dorothy L. Burgoon has established the Arden H. and Dorothy L. Burgoon Scholarship Fund at the University of Findlay. Mr. and Mrs. Burgoon were business owners in Findlay. Mrs. Burgoon owned the L and W Sandwich shop in Findlay and was a former schoolteacher for the deaf. Mr. Burgoon was a retired accountant from Marathon Oil Company and a former realtor. It was their desire to financially assist students seeking higher education. Applicants must have a 2.75 GPA.
Arthur and Elizabeth Raker Family Scholarship Endowment Fund
Arthur and Elizabeth Raker established this scholarship to provide financial assistance to undergraduate or graduate candidates majoring in Middle Childhood Education who have a focus on a social studies content area.
Athletic Department Academic Resource Discretionary Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the Athletic Department administration, coaches, and staff established the Athletic Discretionary Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay to support programming, staffing, and/or technology to advance academic priorities for all students involved in athletics.
Athletic Endowment Fund
This endowment was made possible through the Estate of Adele Horn in memory of John G. Routzon ’24. John was a student-athlete and an inductee into the UF Athletic Hall of Fame in 1971. This fund shall be used at the discretion of the Athletic Director for the advancement, support, and well-being of the Athletic Department and the furtherance of its mission, subject to normal University oversight.
Austin E. Knowlton Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2012 through generous support from The Knowlton Foundation, the Austin E. Knowlton Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund annually supports a UF student who is a freshman applicant majoring in mathematics or a related field and attended an Ohio high school. Austin E. Knowlton founded The Austin E. Knowlton Foundation, Cincinnati, Ohio, and funded it throughout his lifetime. It was Mr. Knowlton's wish that the Foundation would continue to fund a broad range of philanthropic endeavors for the advancement of higher education.
Ballinger Industries Inc. Scholarship
This scholarship was established to support and encourage higher education. First preference is given to children of current employees of Fabco Inc. and Werk-Brau Inc., with second preference being grandchildren of current employees. Applicants must have a 2.7 GPA or better.
Barbara Eakin Meyers Acquisition Fund Endowment
Barbara Eakin ‘63 Meyers established this endowment to assist with the purchase of additional artwork of children’s picture books for the Mazza Museum.
Barbara Rieck Heminger Scholarship
Mr. and Mrs. William E. Ruse established this scholarship to perpetuate Barbara's legacy and memory and the joy and happiness she brought to so many people. Because of Barbara's love for teaching and for children, this recipient shall be an Education major with at least a 2.8 GPA.
Barry Alexander Memorial Theatre Scholarship
Barry Alexander was director of theatre and a member of the UF faculty from 1977 until his untimely death of acute leukemia in September of 1994. The Barry Alexander Memorial Theatre Scholarship was established by his students, alumni, friends, and colleagues to recognize him for his service to his students and the University. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding Theatre major who has financial need.
Barry, Cobb, and King Scholarship Endowment Fund
Odell Barry ’65, Virgil Cobb ’65, and Tony King established this scholarship to support a student enrolled in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The student recipient must be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior and is considered a minority student.
Benjamin E. Sapp '93 Endowment Fund
July 2020 marked 25 years of service to the Mazza Museum for our director, Ben Sapp. In honor and celebration of this achievement, Barbara Meyers ‘63, a dedicated volunteer and past chair of the Mazza Enthusiasts Advisory Board renamed her endowment the Benjamin E. Sapp ’93 Endowment Fund. This fund is used to purchase equipment and supplies for the Conda STEAM Center, an expansion to the Mazza Museum which inspires visitors by blending art with the sciences.
Benjamin L. Levers and Patricia M. Smith Scholarship Endowment Fund
Benjamin “Luke” Levers ‘51 and Patricia Smith and their families established this scholarship to support a student-athlete on the UF Roughneck wrestling team. The recipient may be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior at the University of Findlay.
Bernice Hellings Scholarship
Bernice Hellings 1917 established the Bernice Hellings Scholarship Fund through her estate. The fund is used to provide financial assistance to outstanding students entering the University of Findlay.
Bernice M. Hagerty Scholarship
Martha (Hagerty) von Schmidt-Pauli '62 established the Bernice M. Hagerty Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay in honor of her mother. Martha grew up in Hancock County and wanted to enable young women in the community to excel in their academic careers at the University of Findlay. The scholarship is awarded to a Hancock County female student who maintains a 3.2 G.P.A. or higher.
Betty and Russel Ruths Memorial Scholarship
The Betty and Russel Ruths Memorial Scholarship was established through a trust in memory of Betty (Cahoon ’45) and Russel Ruths to be awarded annually to a deserving student from the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the Churches of God.
Betty Caskey Clopper Scholarship
The Betty Caskey Clopper Scholarship, established by Allen ’36 and Betty (Caskey ’36) Clopper, provides assistance to students who rank in the upper quarter of their high school class. The student should be planning to major in primary education with an emphasis in early childhood education and have a desire to teach at the preschool level, kindergarten or grades one through three. This scholarship is renewable provided the student maintains at least a 3.0 GPA.
Billy J. '96 and Brenda Watterson Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive of the University of Findlay, Mr. and Mrs. Watterson established this fund to encourage and support students interested in entrepreneurship. The scholarship is awarded to a freshmen or sophomore student in good standing with the University of Findlay.
Billy J. and Brenda Watterson "Be the Light Christian Service Award" Endowment Fund
Established by Billy J. and Brenda Watterson, the Billy J. and Brenda Watterson “Be the Light” Christian Service Award at the University of Findlay is available to students who wish to serve others abroad through their Christian faith.
Blue Sky Therapy Occupational Therapy Program Leader Award
Blue Sky Therapy established this scholarship to assist second-year students in the traditional and weekend program cohorts of the University of Findlay OT program.
Bob and Betty Gephart Scholarship
Friends, family, and the children of Robert L. ’59 and Elizabeth A. (Now ’54) Gephart established the Bob and Betty Gephart Scholarship in honor of their retirements from teaching at Van Buren High School and as a tribute to their commitment to quality education. The scholarship recipient must be an outstanding Van Buren graduate who attends the University of Findlay.
Bob and Jeanne ‘89 Rustic Scholarship Endowment Fund
In honor of Professor Bob Rustic’s retirement, friends, family, and College of Business alumni established the Bob and Jeanne ‘89 Rustic Scholarship Endowment to support students who demonstrates leadership qualities and a passion for serving the community. Recipients may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 2.50.
Bob and Marcia Sloan Latta Scholarship Endowment Fund
U.S. Representative Bob Latta and Dr. Marcia Sloan Latta established this scholarship to assist a student residing in the Ohio 5th Congressional District who is a current freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Bob and Wanda Staley Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Cheryl Seibert, daughter of Bob and Wanda Staley, to honor her parents' memory and the legacy they left of good ethics, strong faith and giving hearts. Mr. and Mrs. Staley were both raised on Ohio farms during the Depression in the 1930s. Mr. Staley was able to graduate college on the GI Bill after WWII. They felt young people from farm families needed help today to achieve their dreams of a college education. Mr. Staley had the opportunity to interact with UF students. He was impressed with the students he met who often worked part-time jobs and then went home to work on the family farms while continuing their classwork. This scholarship is awarded to full-time students from a rural background who are working part-time to support their education. Recipients wrote an essay regarding the value of a rural upbringing in one's life and college career and also what impact they want to have on society and why. Recipients have a 3.2 GPA or higher.
BP Foundation Operating Scholarship
BP America and the BP Foundation have established the BP Foundation Operating Scholarship at the University of Findlay to encourage and prepare young people for careers in the environment, health, and safety (EHS) field. BP is one of the world's leading international oil and gas companies, providing its customers with fuel for transportation, energy for heat and light, retail services and petrochemicals products for everyday items. This scholarship is awarded to students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study who are enrolled in the EHS and Sustainability major or who have demonstrated an interest in an environmental career. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Bradley Shinn Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
Students in UF’s College of Pharmacy will be eligible to apply for the scholarship. Dr. Shinn was committed to inspiring pharmacy students to believe that they can truly make a difference in medication outcomes and the lives of their patients. In addition to teaching, he was especially interested in investigating and developing systems that better integrate the pharmacist in direct patient-care decision-making, optimizing the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy, and improving medication safety and the use of antimicrobial agents in institutional practice.
Bradley Spraw ’07, ’08 Global Learning Scholarship Endowment
Bradley Spraw ’07, ’08 established this scholarship to assist and support students with plans of studying abroad. The scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in a study abroad program, working abroad in an internship, or presenting at an international conference.
Broadway Concert Series Endowment Fund
Supporters of the Thomas and Kathleen Donnell Broadway Concert Series established the Broadway Concert Series Endowment Fund to provide operational support of the program through the University of Findlay. Funds may be spent on artist fees, venue costs, travel costs, and promotion of the performances.
Brungard Family Scholarship Endowment Fund
This annual scholarship was established by Thomas ’96 ‘98 and Debra Brungard to support a student in the College of Education or College of Sciences majoring in Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability. The recipient may be in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study, or enrolled in a graduate program.
Buckeye Western Horse Association Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the Buckeye Western Horse Association established this scholarship in furtherance of the equine industry. The scholarship is awarded first to students from Hancock County participating and involved in the UF Western Equestrian studies program; second to Hancock County students involved in equine 4-H or equine junior fair during high school; or to Hancock County students who participated in general junior fair during high school. Recipients must have at least a 2.5 GPA.
Bundy Equestrian Scholarship
Richard L. Bundy Sr. ’59 and Geneva (Keck ’44) Bundy established the Bundy Equestrian Scholarship for students who are majoring in Equestrian Studies and are involved in both equestrian and campus activities. Preference for this scholarship is given to descendants of Richard L. and Geneva Bundy.
Bundy-Keck Scholarship
Established in memory of Lewis Arthur Bundy and William Ira Keck, fathers of Richard Lewis ’59 and Geneva (Keck ’44) Bundy, the scholarship is established to help students meet the financial obligation of attending college. Preference is given to descendants of Lewis Arthur Bundy and William Ira Keck.
Business Affairs Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive of the University of Findlay, the employees of the Office of Business Affairs established the Business Affairs Scholarship Endowment Fund. This fund is awarded to a full-time student who is a United States citizen and demonstrates commitment to the University through active participation in campus activities, clubs and/or service organizations. Recipients may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and must have a GPA between 2.75 and 3.1 to qualify.
Business Affiliates Scholarship Program
The Business Affiliates Scholarship Program provides scholarship money to the University of Findlay students who graduated from a Hancock County high school and/or are currently employed by a Hancock County business.
Byron E. “By” Morgan Jr. Scholarship
The family and friends of By Morgan have established the Byron E. “By” Morgan Jr. Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay in recognition of his achievements as a head football coach and his dedication to then-Findlay College. Recipients must be full-time students participating in the University’s football program with at least a 2.5 GPA.
C.P. Voller Scholarship Endowment Fund
Jack C. Voller established the C.P. Voller Scholarship Endowment Fund to honor his later father by supporting military veterans who were students from Findlay City Schools or any Hancock County schools. Recipients of this scholarship shall be students who maintained a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.75 and are incoming freshmen, or current freshmen, sophomore, junior, or senior students at the University of Findlay.
C. Paul Palmer Scholarship
Margaret Palmer established the C. Paul Palmer Scholarship in honor of her late husband, who was former CEO of the National Lime and Stone Company in Findlay. The scholarship is awarded to a student who has at least a 3.0 GPA and demonstrates financial need.
C. Richard Beckett Pre-Veterinary Scholarship Endowment Fund
C. Richard Beckett established this scholarship to assist and support a student majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Recipients may be in their junior or senior year of study at the University of Findlay and have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.40.
C. William Barkalow '71 Endowment Fund
Bill Barkalow '71 always had a passion for business leadership and professional management. In his desire to better prepare a path for future business leaders, he established the C. William Barkalow '71 Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay, recognizing that creating opportunities for those with potential will provide a way to guide them to understanding the reality, roles and responsibilities necessary to build and lead a business enterprise. Bill successfully managed multiple companies throughout his career and made many efforts to contribute to the next generation of business leaders through this endowment and his business mentorship. This endowment was established to provide ongoing support towards the education of business students in the areas of business leadership and professional management.
CAHSS Faculty Development Endowment Fund
This fund will support faculty with resources needed for faculty development.
Caleb T. Clark Scholarship
Family and friends of Caleb T. Clark ’98 have established this scholarship in his memory. Mr. Clark graduated with bachelor’s degrees in biology, hazardous materials management and fine arts. This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Art and/or Environmental Studies who has a 3.0 GPA.
Carl Meyer '63 Scholarship Endowment Fund
Carl and Wava Meyer established this scholarship to support a student-athlete who is on a varsity sport at the University of Findlay.
Carter Legacy Research Endowment Fund
William S. and Lael S. Carter established the Carter Legacy Research Endowment Fund to support student research studies within the University of Findlay’s Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability program.
Catharine M. Bowen Scholarship
Catharine M. Bowen ’29 established the Catharine M. Bowen Scholarship to recognize a student studying in a human service area or health-related area.
Catherine Achord Spanish Scholarship
After her retirement as director of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, Catherine Achord came to the University of Findlay to study Spanish. Her enthusiasm and hard work endeared her to students a fraction of her age. Later, when her hearing failed and she could not attend classes herself, she established a scholarship for students majoring in Spanish, holding junior or senior status with at least a 3.0 GPA. When Miss Achord passed away in 1989, she remembered the University of Findlay in her will so that an endowed scholarship could be established in her name.
Charles A. Jackson Scholarship
The Charles A. Jackson Scholarship was established as a tribute to him by his wife, Margaret Jackson, and his family. Mr. Jackson served on the Findlay City Schools’ Board of Education and also on the UF Board of Trustees. He was employed at Marathon Oil Company for 37 years. Prior to retirement, he was Vice President of Finance. Mr. Jackson was an educator by avocation, spending a lifetime of reading, study and service. The scholarship is awarded to deserving business administration majors who have exhibited leadership in campus activities, clubs and organizations.
Charles D. Daniels '97 and Darla E. Lammers, D.C., Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Charles D. Daniels and Darla E. Lammers, D.C., established the Charles D. Daniels '97 and Darla E. Lammers, D.C., Basketball Endowment Fund to support the men's varsity basketball program at the University of Findlay. Chuck played baseball and basketball while a student at UF. Dr. Lammers is the owner of Lammers Chiropractic Care in her hometown of Glandorf, Ohio, where she also practices.
Charles H. Spragg Golf Scholarship Endowment Fund
Charles H. Spragg, D.D.S. established this scholarship to help recruit and retain outstanding student athletes on the UF golf team. The student recipient must be in his first, second, third, or fourth year of study and be considered academically eligible to participate in Varsity sports.
Charles J. and Mariann Dana Younger Operations Endowment
Established in 1992 by Charles and Mariann Younger, this endowment funds the annual operations of the Mazza Museum. Both Mr. and Mrs. Younger received honorary degrees for their service and contributions to the University of Findlay and the community.
Charles Jacobs Younger and Mariann Dana Younger Operating Endowment Fund
Charles and Mariann Younger established this endowment to provide support for the annual operations of the University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum.
Charles Sheets Western Equestrian Scholarship
Charles R. Sheets established the Charles Sheets Western Equestrian Scholarship to recognize outstanding students majoring in the western equestrian studies program. A 2.5 GPA is required for consideration.
Charlie '92 and Belinda '02 Ernst Basketball Endowment Fund
Charlie A. and Belinda D. (Roberts) Ernst established this endowment to support the UF Men’s Varsity Basketball Program.
Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Computer Science Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Computer Science Scholarship Endowment Fund was established to encourage female participation and representation in the computer science field at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to up to three female students who are freshmen, sophomore, junior, or senior standing in the computer science program with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Chemistry Scholarship Endowment Fund
The faculty and staff of the Department of Physical Sciences established the Chemistry Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to Chemistry students who are juniors or seniors and who have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Christin Kay "Chrissie" Kausrud Memorial English Equestrian Scholarship Endowment Fund
Friends and family of Chrissie Kausrud established the Christin Kay “Chrissie” Kausrud Memorial English Equestrian Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. A native of Kalamazoo, MI, Chrissie graduated from UF in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Equestrian Studies and Finance with a minor in Business Administration. Chrissie was working as an assistant horse trainer when she passed away in 2017. This scholarship is awarded to equestrian student with preference given to an English hunter/jumper emphasis student. Preference shall also be given to a student seeking a second major within the College of Business. The recipient must be in their junior or senior year of study and have a 3.2 GPA or better.
Christian Ministries International Student Operating Scholarship Fund
the University of Findlay Campus Ministries established this fund to support an international student at the undergraduate or graduate level of study who is involved in Christian Ministries.
Christian Ministries Staff Support Endowment Fund
Sally B. Elsea established the Christian Ministries Staff Support Endowment Fund to help support the salaries and work of Christian leaders at the University of Findlay.
Class of 1939 Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Class of 1939 established this scholarship as their 50th anniversary class gift to support a sophomore, junior, or senior who is an active community member with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 2.80.

The Findlay College Class of 1942 established this scholarship for students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year at the University of Findlay.

Class of 1959 Scholarship Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Fund Drive, the members of the Class of 1959 established this scholarship commemorating their 50-year reunion. This scholarship is awarded to an education major in his or her sophomore, junior, or senior year of study with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Class of 1959 University Archives Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and through the generosity of the Findlay College Class of 1959, the Class of 1959 University Archives Endowment Fund was established. This endowment will provide for the maintenance of the Findlay College/the University of Findlay archives and museum; for the advancement, support, and preservation of historical items; and for the furtherance of its mission.
Class of 1960 Scholarship Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the members of the Class of 1960 established this scholarship. It is awarded to full-time students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study who have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Class of 1962 Scholarship Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the members of the Class of 1962 established this scholarship commemorating their 50-year reunion. This scholarship is awarded to an education major in his or her sophomore, junior, or senior year of study with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Class of 1964 Scholarship Endowment Fund
Members of the Findlay College Class of 1964 established this fund as part of their 50th-year celebration. The recipient must be a full-time student in any year of study and have a 3.0 GPA.
Clauss Athletic Scholarship
Through the generosity of Wilbur Clauss, the Clauss Athletic Scholarship Endowment Fund was established at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to a female and male student participating on a varsity sports team other than football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and women’s volleyball.
College First Church of God Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the elders and congregation of College First Church of God. It is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an approved major at the University of Findlay who regularly attends and participates in the life of College First Church of God and has at least a 3.0 GPA.
College of Business Advisory Board Leadership Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the members of the College of Business Advisory Board established this fund to support the College of Business students in their pursuit of leadership opportunities both on and off campus.
College of Business Dean's Discretionary Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the University of Findlay's 125th Endowed Funds Drive, and through the generosity of Paul Sears, Ph.D., the College of Business Dean's Discretionary Endowment Fund was established. This fund shall be used at the discretion of the dean of the College of Business to advance the academic priorities of the college, subject to normal University oversight. The distributions are intended to provide the dean with the resources needed to achieve a higher level of excellence by funding activities over and above those funded by the school's normal operating budget.
College of Business Endowed Fund for the Support of Non-Traditional Business Programs
This fund was anonymously endowed by an alum in conjunction with the University of Findlay’s 125th Endowed Funds Drive. The weekend and non-traditional degree program is an excellent opportunity for individuals to further their education while working full-time as it combines textbook learning with practical on-the-job experiences. It also brings a variety of people together who share different ideas based upon their own areas of experience in the working world. This endowment supports the College of Business for the promotion of the weekend college and degree completion non-traditional undergraduate business program.

The College of Education AYA/MA/MC Scholarship Endowment Fund was established through the generosity of the faculty and staff of the College of Education to help fund the education for future adolescent, young adult, multi-year, or middle childhood education teachers. Scholarships will be awarded to a student with a 3.0 G.P.A. or above.

The College of Pharmacy Founding Dean's Scholarship Endowment Fund was established at the University of Findlay to honor Dr. Donald W. Stansloski by his friends and colleagues. Dr. Stansloski demonstrated leadership in the founding of the pharmacy college in 2004 and inspired faculty and students for decades to be leaders in their own right. The recipients must be in their P5 or P6 year at the University of Findlay and demonstrate leadership. The recipients must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or above.
Colonel Halson Kent Edie Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Colonel Halson Kent Edie Scholarship Endowment Fund was established through his bequest to award a student at the University of Findlay who is an active member of the United States Military with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Computer Science ACM Horizons Award
This award is to be given to a sophomore or junior student majoring in Computer Science with an overall grade point average, G.P.A. of 3.20. This award will be awarded to a student with the following criteria: (1) academic accomplishments, (2) involvement in student organizations such as the ACM (Association for Computer Machinery) student chapter, (3) career-related job either on-campus or off-campus, (4) leadership potential, (5) demonstrated future promise in a Computer Science career or graduate school, (6) ethics and professionalism.
Curtain Raisers Society Band Scholarship Endowment Fund
This scholarship was established by the members of the Curtain Raiser Society to provide financial assistance to members of the University of Findlay Band. The recipient may be a current freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior and shall have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.50.
Curtain Raisers Society Choral Scholarship
The members of the Curtain Raisers Society established the Curtain Raisers Society Choral Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to a student involved in the Concert-Chorale at UF. It was established to encourage the singer for their hard work and dedication in continuing to perfect their vocal skills during their time as a student. The recipient must have a 3.0 GPA or better.

The members of the Curtain Raisers Society established the Curtain Raisers Society Technical Theatre Production Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to a student involved in technical theatre production. The fund was established to honor the students who work tirelessly behind the scenes on UF productions and performances. The recipient must have a 3.25 GPA or better.

The CVS Health Foundation established this scholarship to support a bilingual pharmacy student in completing their pharmacy education.
CVS Pharmacy Operating Scholarship
The Board of Directors of CVS Pharmacy established the CVS Pharmacy Operating Scholarship to assist a student majoring in pharmacy with an interest in community pharmacy. The recipient shall be in their P1 (first professional year), P2 (second professional year), P3 (third professional year), or P4 (fourth professional year) with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
CVS Spanish Operating Scholarship Fund
The CVS Health Foundation established this scholarship to support a Spanish-speaking student who is in the pharmacy program.
Cynthia A. Fishbaugh Walker Memorial Operating Scholarship
Carol Mittermaier of Carey, OH funded through a planned gift the Cynthia A. Fishbaugh Walker Memorial Scholarship at the University of Findlay in honor of her dear friend and colleague. This scholarship is awarded to an Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine major who demonstrates financial need and is in good academic standing.
D. Richard and Judith L. Stephens Endowment Fund
This endowment was established in conjunction with the 125th anniversary of the University of Findlay. It shall be used at the discretion of the vice president for Academic Affairs in furtherance of the goals and visions of the Center for Leadership Development at UF. The distribution of these funds is intended to help provide the center with the resources needed to achieve its mission.
Dale Wilkinson Scholarship
This scholarship was established by friends and former students to honor Dale Wilkinson and to continue his legacy of educating western riding trainers. Mr. Wilkinson helped found the Western Equestrian studies program at the University in 1976. He served as the program’s first supervisor of riding, a position held until 1984. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in 1977 in recognition of his role in establishing UF's equestrian program, his life’s work as a trainer, and his stature in the equine industry.
Dallas & Cheryl Sterling Scholarship
Dallas and Cheryl Sterling established the Dallas Sterling, R.Ph., and Cheryl Sterling Pharmacy Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Scholarship awards are made annually. This scholarship is awarded based on financial need.
Dana Endowed Fund
Established in 1992 by the Dana Corporation, this fund provides for a distinguished member of the business community to serve as the Dana Chair, an adviser and guest lecturer for the University of Findlay business program, and to support the activities of this Chair.
Dana R. Jackson, R.Ph., C.Ph. Scholarship
Mr. Dana R. Jackson, a 1974 Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy graduate, established this scholarship. The recipient of this scholarship shall be a Doctor of Pharmacy major (fifth or sixth year) and a resident of Hardin County, Ohio. This scholarship provides funds to purchase books.
Daniel E. Whitinger Memorial Soccer Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Daniel by his family. He graduated from the University of Findlay in 1992 with a B.S. in psychology and religion. He played soccer all four years during his college career, appearing in 58 games and scoring two goals. A committed Christian, Daniel traveled abroad on several mission trips where he found soccer crossed all language and cultural barriers. This scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the men’s varsity soccer team who does not receive any other UF athletic scholarship assistance and who demonstrates a strong Christian character. The recipient may be in his freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Dave and Fradonna Buck Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, Fradonna Buck established the Dave and Fradonna Buck Basketball Endowment Fund to support the men's varsity basketball program at the University of Findlay. Mrs. Buck established this fund in memory of her husband, David A. Buck.

David and Karen ’77 Eubanks established this endowment to provide financial support to the nursing program at the University of Findlay.
David C. Brown '90 Presidential Entertainment Endowment Fund
David C. Brown ’90 established this endowment to be used annually to support the President’s Office at the University of Findlay to entertain alumni, parents, students, and friends of the University, and travel-associated costs for such events.
David C. Wallach Mathematics Scholarship Endowment Fund
The friends and family of Professor David Wallach established this scholarship to support a student majoring in Mathematics. The recipient of this scholarship may be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
David J. Faiella Sports Information Scholarship
Friends and family established the David J. Faiella Sports Information Scholarship at the University of Findlay to honor his memory. David served 12 years (1989-2001) at UF as the sports information director. The scholarship is awarded to full-time students who are Communication or Sport Management majors in any year of study. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
David L. '67 and Edith J. Morris Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Mr. and Mrs. Morris established the David L. '67 and Edith J. Morris Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. The recipient may be in any approved major in an academic area of their choice. The scholarship is available to students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study with a 3.0 GPA or better.
David L. Allen Award for Teaching Excellence
This prestigious award was endowed through the foresight and generosity of the late Dr. David L. Allen, Professor of Sociology and Director of Sociology. Dr. Allen, a member of the University faculty for 31 years, was a longtime role model. He demonstrated by example that teaching excellence goes beyond the classroom, with student development, professional development and campus development. It was his desire that a faculty member be recognized each year with this award.
David L. Allen Social Science Scholarship
Through the generosity of Don and Brenda ‘90 Collins and friends of David Allen, the David L. Allen Social Science Scholarship was established at the University of Findlay in his memory. Dr. Allen, professor of sociology and director of social sciences, was a member of the University faculty for 35 years. He proudly served as faculty marshal, loyally supported UF financially and encouraged deserving faculty members through the establishment of the David L. Allen Award for Teaching Excellence in 2002. The scholarship is awarded to students who are social science majors, including sociology, psychology, political science, criminal justice and law in liberal arts. They must show leadership through academics or athletics by their involvement in at least two campus organizations and/or sports. (Ex. Must be a captain of an athletic team, officer in an organization, student assistant for a faculty member or a resident assistant or resident director). The recipient must have at least a 3.0 GPA.

DeBow and Catherine Freed Contemporary Christian Lecture Series Endowment
The DeBow and Catherine Freed Contemporary Christian Lecture Series Endowment was established in 2010 in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Freed. the University of Findlay has been blessed beyond telling by the Freeds’ unstinting service and inspired by the way they exemplify in their daily lives the values we all hold dear. This series invites nationally known speakers to explore the nature of possible Christian responses to existing and emerging contemporary issues in an increasingly pluralistic world. Visiting speakers will engage students and faculty of all three sponsoring institutions, as well as clergy and community members in a variety of ways, including classes, lectures, and small-group discussions. Speakers may represent a variety of faith traditions. This is a collaboration among the University of Findlay, Winebrenner Theological Seminary, and the Churches of God General Conference, which is intended to engender reflection, discussion and values-based action on the part of the students, faculty, and staff of each sponsoring institution, as well as the broader community.
DeBow and Catherine Freed Endowment for Support of Teaching Speech and Support of the Arts
Drs. Debow and Catherine Freed established this endowment to support the concert and lecture series hosted by the University of Findlay.

Desmond V. Buford “One World, One People, One Race” Memorial Scholarship
Des Buford was a man who believed in following your dreams, treating others as equals and living life to its fullest. One of his passions was educating others on aspects of diversity as well as living and promoting the ideology “One race, one people, one world. He was a 1990 graduate of Findlay College wherein he began his career as an admissions counselor. This scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of Des. It is awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior student who demonstrates leadership throughout the UF campus community. The recipient shall have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Dick Strahm Scholarship
The friends and family of Dick “Coach” Strahm have established the Dick Strahm Scholarship to honor his years of dedicated service as both teacher and the head football coach. This scholarship is awarded to an Education major participating in any UF varsity sport who does not receive any athletic scholarship aid. The recipient must have a 3.0 GPA or better and demonstrated need.

The Dietsch Family Scholarship was established in 1993. The scholarship provides assistance to residents of Hancock County, Ohio, and preference is given to applicants who are current or former employees of Dietsch Brothers Ice Cream Inc., Findlay.

The friends of the College of Education established the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) Scholarship Endowment Fund to assist a student in the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program who is of good academic standing and holds a leadership position in their school district.
Don and Barb Hennigs Chair for Guest Artists in the Theatre Program
Barbara Hennigs established the Don and Barb Hennigs Chair for Guest Artists in the Theatre Program in memory of her husband and their love for theatre and dance. The purpose of the chair is to provide a guest artist (actor, director, dancer, playwright, or teacher) of national/international stature to work/perform with UF theatre students for a period of concentrated experience each year.

Mr. Donald E. and Brenda K. ‘90 Collins established the Don and Brenda ’90 Collins Scholarship Endowment Fund to support a student majoring in Psychology, Sociology, or English. Recipients may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and have a grade point average, G.P.A. of at least 3.50.
Don and Nellie Renninger Scholarship
The Don ’40 and Nellie (Ketzenberger ’39) Renninger Scholarship was established by Findlay alumni to honor them for their many years of service and dedication to the University. Between 1940 and 1981, Mr. Renninger was widely known and respected as a Findlay College coach, professor, and athletic director, as well as Mayor of Findlay (1976-79). Mr. Renninger received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in 1987. Mrs. Renninger pursued a teaching career that started at Vanlue High School in Vanlue, Ohio, and concluded with her retirement from Glenwood Junior High School in Findlay.

Don Hanes and Marie Louden-Hanes, along with their family, established this scholarship to support a student-athlete in the track and field program.
Donald C. Higgins Scholarship
The Donald C. Higgins scholarship was established by the friends and family of Donald C. Higgins and is awarded to a student majoring in Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability. The student’s hometown residence must be in a county served by the Northwest District office of the Ohio EPA.
Donald D. Ewing Men's Basketball Scholarship Endowment Fund
Donna Ewing established the Donald D. Ewing Men’s Basketball Scholarship Endowment Fund in memory of her husband. Donald, alongside his wife Donna, supported the athletic program and its students who put in countless hours both in the classroom and through their athletic endeavors. This scholarship supports a member of the UF men’s basketball team.

The Donald Knepper 1915 Scholarship was established in 1981 by his sister, Elizabeth K. Steen, to be awarded to deserving students majoring in business administration.
Donald W. Hennigs Memorial Vocal Music Scholarship
The family of Don Hennigs (1933-1996) established this scholarship in honor of Don’s love and support of musical entertainment and his commitment to its importance in the everyday life of a well-rounded person. This fund provides financial assistance to a deserving student, regardless of financial need, who is an asset to the vocal music program at the University. The student must be a full-time student working on a bachelor’s degree at UF, a member of the UF Concert-Chorale and the UF Singers, as well as being actively involved in the UF general vocal music program.

Dr. Donald W. Stansloski and Patricia Romans Stansloski have established this scholarship to assist students who are Doctor of Pharmacy majors in their fifth or sixth year of study. Recipients shall have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Doris Salis Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
Ms. Susan Salis established the Doris Salis Memorial Scholarship Endowment to memorialize the life and impact of Doris Salis by supporting non-traditional students and/or graduate students. This scholarship can be awarded annually to a student with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.90 or above. The scholarship preference is to be awarded to a non-traditional graduate student, including but not limited to veterans, active military personnel, international, and parents.

Established through the estate of Mr. Shafer, the Douglas M. Shafer Endowment Fund is for the purpose of upkeep and maintenance of the interior of Shafer Library, including cleaning and oiling of Mr. Shafer’s picture.

Doug and Diane Thomas established this scholarship to support a student in their junior or senior year of study who is pursuing a degree in finance or accounting with a grade point average, G.P.A. of at least 3.30.

The Kent Davis - Dow U.S.A. Science Scholarship was established by Kent Davis and employees of Dow Chemical USA for juniors who have a declared major in the natural sciences. Recipients must have a 3.0 or better GPA.
Doyne Frommer Scholarship
Established by a dear friend, the Doyne Frommer Scholarship Fund at the University of Findlay awards a scholarship to a student in the College of Education majoring in special education and a graduate of Bluffton High School or Findlay High School. The recipient must be a full-time student with a 3.0 GPA.
Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Stevenson College of Science Research Endowment Fund
Jerry ’53 and Pat Stevenson established this endowment to assist the Dean of the College of Sciences in awarding stipends to undergraduate students for research projects.
Dr. Ann Whithaus Nuclear Medicine Institute Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Fund Drive, Ann Whithaus established the Dr. Ann Whithaus Nuclear Medicine Institute Scholarship Endowment Fund. Dr. Whithaus raised her family in Findlay. As a mother and former teacher, she believes education is important. She received her doctorate in philosophy of education from LaSalle University. She established this scholarship as a result of a successful treatment experience with nuclear medicine that was in part administered by graduates of the University of Findlay's Nuclear Medicine program. This scholarship is awarded to a UF degree-seeking student enrolled in the one-year certificate program offered by the Nuclear Medicine Institute. The recipient shall have at least a 3.0 GPA, have good problem-solving capabilities, and show an active interest in the profession.
Dr. August C. and Maxine A. Mazza Director's Discretionary Endowment
In honor of the 30th anniversary of the founding in 1982 of the Mazza Museum of International Art from Picture Books and in conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Dr. August '41 and Maxine Mazza established the Dr. August C. and Maxine A. Mazza Director's Discretionary Endowment for the Mazza Museum. This fund is used for innovative programming, acquisitions and the operations of the Mazza Museum.
Dr. Charles and Phyllis Spragg Basketball Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Charlie and Phyllis Spragg established the Dr. Charles and Phyllis Spragg Basketball Endowment Fund. This endowment supports the men's varsity basketball program at the University of Findlay. C. Richard Beckett established this scholarship to assist a student majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. The recipient shall be in their junior or senior year of study and shall have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.40 or above.
Dr. David Steiner Equestrian and Pre-Veterinary Medicine Scholarship
Established by Dr. David L. Steiner, this scholarship is used to support students in the Equestrian and Pre-Veterinary programs. Two awards are made annually, one each to an Equestrian Studies major and to a Pre-Veterinary Medicine major. Students must be in their fourth year of study and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Recipients are selected by the Director of the Academic Programs for the Center for Equine and Pre-Veterinary Studies and the Directors of the Western and English Riding Programs.
Dr. Edwin S. Stefan Scholarship
In honor of his 70th birthday, the family and friends of Ed Stefan established the Dr. Edwin S. Stefan Scholarship Endowment Fund. Dr. Stefan was a professor at Findlay College/the University of Findlay for 26 years. This scholarship will assist Psychology students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study who maintain a 2.7 or better GPA. This award is presented annually and is renewable if the students meet the qualifications.
Dr. Eugene K. Eakin Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Dr. Eugene K. Eakin Scholarship Endowment Fund was established at the bequest of Mr. Charles ’62 and Mrs. Phyllis (Eakin ’62) Schmidt to honor Mrs. Schmidt’s father. This annual scholarship was established to assist a current freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior student.
Dr. Frank R. and Mary Jane Cosiano Scholarship
Established in 1997 by Dr. and Mrs. Frank R. Cosiano, this scholarship is awarded to students majoring in one of the health professions at the University of Findlay. Students may be in any year of study at the University.
Dr. Herbert O. and Helen (Alexander) Now Scholarship
This scholarship was established in honor of the two UF alumni. Dr. Now served as Findlay’s third academic dean and then as Vice President of Instruction from 1958 to 1964. Mrs. Now gave her life in the service of others. From teaching children to serving in leadership capacities through Christian women’s organizations, Mrs. Now exemplified leadership through service. She was the recipient of many awards, including the Teacher of the Year Award from Columbus Grove City Schools and the Distinguished Associate Award from the University of Findlay. The Now Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is majoring in Education or preparing for Christian ministry. The recipient must be actively involved in campus, community, or church organizations. The scholarship is renewable, provided the student maintains at least a 3.0 GPA.
Dr. James D. ’53 and Mira M. (Frost ’78) Houdeshell Scholarship
Through the generosity of family and friends, the Dr. James D. ’53 and Mira M. (Frost ’78) Houdeshell Scholarship Endowment Fund was established at the University of Findlay in honor of the Houdeshells’ years of commitment to educating young men and women. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student with a 3.0 GPA majoring in education and participating in varsity football or basketball.
Dr. Jean C. Nye Memorial Scholarship
the University of Findlay Board of Trustees established the Dr. Jean C. Nye Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Dr. Nye came to Findlay in 1959. During her tenure, she taught Spanish, developed the undergraduate program in bilingual multicultural education, and created the master of arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) and bilingual education program. After years of directing academic programs, in 1997 she was named Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement, a post in which she served as UF’s government liaison at the state and federal levels. She successfully pursued and received government, foundation, and corporation grants amounting to more than $10 million. At the time she passed away in 2000, she was actively engaged in obtaining funding for the intergenerational studies program, among others. This scholarship shall be given to a student who is enrolled in the intergenerational studies program at UF.
Dr. Jean C. Nye Music Scholarship Endowment Fund
The family and friends of Dr. Jean C. Nye have established this scholarship to be given to a student who participates in a vocal and/or instrumental music program. The recipient of this scholarship shall be in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year and shall have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.00 or above.
Dr. Jean C. Nye Spanish Scholarship
Through his bequest, the Rev. James H. Nye established the Dr. Jean C. Nye Spanish Scholarship in memory of his wife. During her tenure, Dr. Nye taught Spanish, developed the undergraduate program in bilingual multicultural education, and created the master of arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) and bilingual education. This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a Spanish major and has a 3.0 GPA. This scholarship is based on merit.
Dr. Jerry J. Mallett Institute Endowment
Mr. and Mrs. Michael H. Mallett established this endowment to honor Mr. Mallett’s father, Jerry, for his years of service and dedication to the University of Findlay. This fund is used for the operations of the Mazza Museum. The Dr. Jerry J. Mallett Institute is created to incorporate existing Mazza Museum activities.
Dr. Jim and Wendy Davidson Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Jim and Wendy Davidson established the Dr. Jim and Wendy Davidson Basketball Endowment Fund to support the varsity basketball program at the University of Findlay. Dr. Davidson, a Columbus, Ohio native and former football player for the Ohio State University, has been practicing medicine for over 19 years. He has served as a team physician for UF Athletics and for Findlay High School. Wendy, an Oregon, Ohio native, is a Registered Nurse for Findlay City Schools and former volleyball player for Ohio State. Their three children were all collegiate scholar athletes reflecting their emphasis on academics and team sports at the "next level."
Dr. John “Jack” Harrington Scholarship Endowment Fund
the University of Findlay Board of Trustees has established this scholarship to honor Dr. Harrington for his years of service to the University as chairman of the Board. Dr. Harrington served as chairman from 1983-1994. He received an honorary degree in 1994. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has a 3.0 or better GPA.
Dr. Kenneth J. Buchenroth Scholarship
The friends and students of Ken Buchenroth established the Dr. Kenneth J. Buchenroth Scholarship Endowment Fund in his honor. Dr. Buchenroth began his full-time teaching career at Findlay College in 1970 as assistant professor of business administration. He taught accounting until he retired in 1992, after 22 years of much enjoyment in relating to and advising students and touching countless lives with his inspiration and friendship. Dr. Buchenroth was recognized by the University in 1989 with the Founders Academic Excellence Award and in 1992 with an honorary doctor of accountancy degree. This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in accounting with a 3.3 GPA or better.
Dr. Marian R. Bartch '49 Scholarship
Victoria Bartch Weddle, niece of Marian R. Bartch, Ph.D., established the Dr. Marian R. Bartch '49 Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay to honor her memory. Dr. Bartch was a professor of education at Findlay College/the University of Findlay from 1969 until her retirement in 1994. She also served as a consultant and presenter at workshops, published articles in professional journals, co-authored a series of children's books and wrote teacher resource books. She was appointed professor emerita of education by the Board of Trustees upon her retirement. This scholarship is awarded to Education majors with a 3.2 GPA or better.
Dr. Mary Jo and Tony Geise Family Computer Science Scholarship
The Dr. Mary Jo and Tony Geise Family Computer Science Family Scholarship Endowment Fund was established at the University of Findlay for students that are highly involved in campus life and in the computer science program. This scholarship was created in honor of Mary Jo and her many years of service to the University of Findlay. She has served as a faculty member in the computer science department since 1982, during which time she has facilitated local, regional, and national conference participation of students and colleagues, and has advised student groups, including the Choose Ohio First Scholars and 3C Computer Repairs. In addition to her faculty member role, she has worked in the UF ITS department, served as Chair of the computer science department, served as the Dean of the College of Sciences, and has provided institutional research expertise to the institution. Tony graduated from the University in 2000 with a master's degree in environmental and hazardous materials management. Their son, Todd, earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice-law enforcement in 2012. Their daughter, Lisa (Geise) Dick, earned a dual bachelor’s degree in computer science and marketing in 2013 from UF and was one of the founders of the student-run 3C Computer Repairs Business. This award is available for those who have a 3.50 G.P.A. and are a junior or senior Computer Science student.
Dr. Michael T. Homsher Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. Michael T. Homsher Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by the friends and family of Michael T. Homsher. Dr. Homsher began his career at the University of Findlay in August 1990 as a professor in Environmental, Safety and Health Management. He retired December 31, 2013. He was named Professor Emeritus 2014. This scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students majoring in the College of Sciences, specifically EHS and Sustainability, Chemistry and Biology. Recipients may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and must have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Dr. Micheal F. and Denise K. (Reno) Anders Musical Theatre Scholarship
This scholarship was established at the University of Findlay by Carol L. Reno to honor her daughter, Denise K. (Reno) Anders and her son-in-law, Dr. Michael F. Anders. It assists students who have been active in the UF vocal music program with enrolled membership in the choir and who have participated onstage or backstage in UF musical theatre productions.
Dr. Micheal F. Anders Vocal Music Scholarship
Established by Dr. and Mrs. Roy E. Hutchison, the Dr. Micheal F. Anders Vocal Music Scholarship is named for the University’s retired chair of visual and performing arts and professor of music. The scholarship was established to provide assistance to a student, regardless of financial need, who is an asset to UF’s vocal music program. Recipients must be full-time students working toward a bachelor’s degree and must be members of the UF Concert-Chorale.
Dr. Patrick W. Rooney Scholarship
the University of Findlay Board of Trustees has established this scholarship to honor Dr. Rooney for his years of service to the University as chairman of the Board. Dr. Rooney served as chairman from 1994-2001. He received an honorary doctorate in 2002. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student majoring in business with a 3.0 GPA.
Dr. Paul and Jane Davis Physician Assistant Endowment
Dr. and Mrs. Paul Davis established this fund primarily to assist Physician Assistant students and faculty in attending conferences. Dr. Davis was an Assistant Professor for the Physician's Assistant Program at the University of Findlay from 1997 through 2010. He then served as the Associate Professor and Chair of the PA Program from 2010 until his retirement in 2014.
Dr. Richard W. Malcolm '55 Memorial Scholarship
Carla Malcolm established the Dr. Richard W. Malcolm '55 Memorial Scholarship at the University of Findlay, honoring the wishes of her late husband. Dr. Malcolm was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus in 1988 and a Distinguished Associate in 2010, and he served on the Alumni Board of Governors for many years. This scholarship is awarded to an Education major with first preference to students who are members of the marching brass band. The recipient must have at least a 2.5 GPA.
Dr. Robert J. Ewald Performing Arts Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Dr. Robert J. Ewald Performing Arts Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in honor of Bob ‘67 and Donna Ewald’s passion for music and theatre. The annual scholarship can be awarded to a student involved in the choir, athletic or concert band, jazz ensemble, or orchestra, or who participated onstage or backstage in musical theatre productions. The recipient may be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Drs. Adam and Jennifer Hechko Animal Science Scholarship Endowment Fund
Drs. Adam ‘02 and Jennifer Hechko established this scholarship to support students in the Pre-Veterinary, Animal Science, Biology, and Chemistry programs. The recipient of this scholarship shall be a student in their current junior or senior year. It is preferred that the student is from Cuyahoga County, Northeastern Ohio, or an Ohio resident.
Dr. Steven D. Craig and Rebecca S. Craig Operating Scholarship
Rebecca (Becky) S. Craig established the Dr. Steven D. Craig and Rebecca S. Craig Operating Scholarship Fund at the University of Findlay. It is because of their love for music and good fortune that Becky Craig established this fund in memory of her brother, Dr. Steven D. Craig. Dr. Craig was on the teaching staffs at both the University of Virginia, and Miami University; He returned to teach at Kenton City schools for a few years before his death to be closer to family. Steven was a member of the UF symphonic band playing his principle instrument, the oboe. His sister, Becky, a medical technologist, retired from Memorial Hospital of Union County at Marysville, Ohio where she was the Administrative/Technical Director of the Clinical Laboratory. Becky's desire was to assist students in completing their education, while taking advantage of the opportunity to continue to grow in the music field. This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who are Ohio residents majoring in any of the following areas: medical laboratory science, health care management, pre-nursing, social work, physical therapy, physician assistant or pre-veterinary medicine. Recipients must play a woodwind instrument and be an active member of the UF concert band. Recipients may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and have at 2.5 GPA or better.
Dr. Vernon E. Garner Endowed Fund for Entrepreneurial Excellence
This fund was established through the generosity and foresight of Dr. Garner to encourage entrepreneurial initiatives and ensure that such endeavors are grounded in good business practice and firm ethical foundations. It will be used to create a student entrepreneurial financing program to help incubate student-driven start-up businesses as part of the undergraduate educational experience. Interested students should contact the Dean of the College of Business for further guidelines. Dr. Garner received an honorary Doctor of Entrepreneurial Business Development degree in 1996.
Dr. Wendell Moyer Scholarship
The Dr. Wendell Moyer Scholarship was established in memory of Wendell W. Moyer 1924, whose lifetime profession was as a research chemist. It is awarded to an honor student who has high character and is majoring in natural science or math.
Dr. Wilfred W. Black History Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Merril '69 and Barbara Mirsky established the Dr. Wilfred W. Black History Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. This scholarship honors the Findlay College professor who taught from 1960 to 1975, when he retired as emeritus professor of history. This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in history with a 2.8 GPA or better.
Dressage Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Fund Drive, the dressage faculty at the University of Findlay established the Dressage Scholarship Endowment Fund to encourage students to become dressage trainers and/or instructors. Recipients must be members of the Intercollegiate Dressage Association team at UF who demonstrate good sportsmanship, have strong leadership skills and work toward the betterment of the equine industry. Recipients must have a strong passion for horses and maintain at least a 3.5 GPA.
Duane and Kathy Jebbett Leadership Scholarship Endowment Fund
Duane and Kathy Jebbett established the Duane and Kathy Jebbett Leadership Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time business student who has demonstrated a willingness and ability to participate in extra-curricular and enrichment activities in addition to maintaining a 2.75 GPA.
Dudley Laser ’23 and Mary (Marks ’17) Lea Scholarship
The Dudley Laser and Mary (Marks '17) Lea Scholarship was established by the late Mary and Dudley Lea, lifelong residents of Findlay. The scholarship is awarded annually to students majoring in Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability, business or language who demonstrate steady academic progress and a high degree of involvement in activities on campus.
Dumbauld Memorial Scholarship
Judge Edward Dumbauld established the Dumbauld Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a student from Western Pennsylvania, with preference given to students from Fayette County and descendants of William H. and Nancy A. Dumbauld. The award is based on character, industriousness, dependability, potentialities, leadership traits and financial need as well as academic aptitude and achievements. Judge Dumbauld received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Findlay in 1981.
Dwight '73 and Alice Miller Scholarship
This fund was established in conjunction with the 125th Endowed Fund Drive of the University of Findlay to support African-American students who are majoring in business. Mr. and Mrs. Miller created this scholarship because they wanted to give students the opportunity to be successful. Mr. Miller is a 1973 graduate of Findlay College with a major in accounting and former member of the University of Findlay's Board of Trustees. Eligible students must be in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and have at least a 2.50 GPA.
Earl W. DeLong '48 College of Business Visiting Executive Lectureship Endowment
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign at the University of Findlay, Earl W. DeLong '48 and Gladys L. DeLong established the Earl W. DeLong '48 College of Business Visiting Executive Lectureship Endowment. This fund is designed to bring business executives to the University to interact and share their experiences with students, faculty and the Findlay community.
Echo Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
Echo Zimmerman was a graduate of the University of Findlay Occupational Therapy program in 2010. She predominately worked in the Findlay area as a home health occupational therapist. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2016 and passed away in December 2016. Echo loved her profession and developed many lasting connections with colleagues and patients in this area. The Echo Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund was started in her honor to help fund a prospective future occupational therapist who will enjoy the profession the way she did and strive towards exceptional patient care.
Ed and Melinda Taylor Men’s Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Ed and Melinda Taylor established the Ed and Melinda Taylor Men’s Basketball Endowment to support the varsity basketball program at the University of Findlay.
Edward and Mary Crosby Scholarship
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Crosby, the Edward and Mary Crosby Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman majoring in Equestrian Studies or Pre-Veterinary Medicine. The recipient must show distinct Christian ethics and have leadership qualities as demonstrated by involvement in extracurricular activities in high school or preparatory school. Edward and Mary Crosby were Mr. Philip Crosby’s father and mother.
Edward Lamb Foundation Equestrian Scholarship
The Edward Lamb Foundation has established the Edward Lamb Foundation Equestrian Scholarship Endowment Fund in honor of Mr. Lamb’s granddaughter and her love for horses. This award is presented annually to an Equestrian major in either the English or Western program.
Edwin L. Heminger Memorial Lectureship in Business Ethics Endowment
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values comprehensive campaign at the University of Findlay, Karl Heminger, former member of the UF Board of Trustees, and his brother, Kurt Heminger, established the Edwin L. Heminger Memorial Lectureship in Business Ethics Endowment Fund as a memorial to their father. Edwin Heminger, a long-time businessman and civic leader, passed away in 2011. He served as a trustee of UF from 1967 until 2000, when he was named a trustee emeritus. In 1995, he was awarded an honorary doctor of communication management. His association with the University went back to his grandfather, Isaac Newton (I.N.) Heminger, who graduated from Findlay College in 1890. During his long career in the news media, he was the chair of the board of The Findlay Publishing Co. and a former publisher of The Courier, where he was the third generation to work at the newspaper. He was nationally respected for his service with newspaper associations, and he was active in the community where he served on many boards and helped found the Hancock Historical Museum. He was known for his fairness and integrity, as well as his compassion for people. This fund supports an annual lecture, dinner, and related activities that promote the teaching of good business ethics in UF’s College of Business.
EJ and Mildred Rader Scholarship
Ellis James "Jim" Rader established the EJ and Mildred Rader Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University through a bequest. Mr. Rader retired in 1985 from Marathon Oil Company after 38 years of service. This scholarship assists students in the College of Business and the College of Sciences.
Elizabeth S. Gupta Award for Excellence in Teaching
Established by Dr. Gupta and his family, this award recognizes teaching excellence in the area of Fine Arts.
Elsie Mae Daubert ’46 Memorial Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Richard and Eva Longsderff established the Elsie Mae Daubert ’46 Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund in memory of Eva’s sister, a retired educator. Ms. Daubert taught science and English a total of 39 years, six years in Haviland and Vanlue, Ohio, and for 33 years at Cedar Crest High School in Cornwall, Pa. She also was very active in the Churches of God, General Conference, for many years. Ms. Daubert was honored as a UF Distinguished Alumna in 1992. This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Biology with first preference going to Church of God members. Recipients shall have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Emerson and Laura Pelton Scholarship
Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Pelton established the Emerson and Laura Pelton Scholarship in 1992. The scholarship is awarded to an Ohio resident with excellent academic credentials and demonstrated financial need.
Emily Apt Geer Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
The family and friends of former faculty member Emily Apt Geer established this scholarship to be given to a student enrolled in any major at the University of Findlay. The recipient must have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.00 or above.
Emma May Gray '66 Scholarship
Emma May Gray, Class of 1966 and a History major, established this scholarship to assist students in furthering their education at the University of Findlay; The recipient shall be a Math or Science major and a graduate of a Hancock County, Ohio high school with a 3.0 or better GPA and be in their junior or senior year of study.
Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Scholarship
Lael and William Carter established this scholarship to encourage students from the University of Findlay to enter the Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health profession. This award shall be made to a qualified student irrespective of her or his financial need. The recipients may be in their junior or senior years and must have a 3.0 GPA.
Equestrian Business Management Operating Scholarship
The Equestrian Business Management Operating Scholarship at the University of Findlay was established to assist students majoring in Equine Business Management. The recipient must be enrolled or have completed the Equine Marketing course. Recipients must have a GPA of 2.75 or above and be in their current freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study.
Equestrian Surcharge Operating Scholarship
This scholarship was established to cover the surcharge fee charged by the University of Findlay for equestrian students. Each year, one incoming freshman student each from the Western and the English Equestrian programs shall be chosen to receive this scholarship.
Ericka Boddie Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
JaMarcus Hampton, Erin Smith, Shereia Dukes, and LaFlore Walker established this scholarship to support an African American female student(s) from Lima, Ohio who are current freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior at the University of Findlay.
Eric R. Theis Nuclear Medicine Institute Operating Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, the family and friends of Eric Theis established the Eric R. Theis Nuclear Medicine Institute Operating Scholarship Fund in his memory. Eric graduated from Owens Community College with an associate degree and completed the Nuclear Medicine Technology program offered by the Nuclear Medicine Institute at the University of Findlay in 2005. He was passionate about nuclear medicine and cherished his co-workers and friends. His legacy continues through this scholarship to assist others in obtaining an education in nuclear medicine. This scholarship is awarded to a recipient from the University of Findlay who is enrolled in the one-year certificate program offered by the Nuclear Medicine Institute at UF. The recipient shall have at least a 2.5 GPA and good problem-solving capabilities, and must show an active interest in the profession.
ESOH Scholarship Endowment Fund
Alumni and friends established this endowment fund to provide annual support to a student in environmental safety, occupational health, emergency management, or environmental management. The recipient of this award shall be enrolled in their first year of study with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 2.80.

Evelyn M. Damon ’27 Scholarship
The Evelyn M. Damon Scholarship was established by Miss Damon, a 1927 graduate of Findlay College. The scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduate of a Hancock County, Ohio, high school and who is preparing for a “service-oriented” profession such as teaching, nursing, social work and/or religion. Preference is given to a student who has been involved in “service-oriented” extracurricular activities. A 3.0 GPA or better is required.
F.O. Eakin Family Scholarship
This fund was established by Barbara Eakin Meyers, Class of 1963, for students majoring in Education and to honor her family. Barbara’s inspiration to assist students in furthering their education came from one of her favorite professors, Dr. Louis Chenette, and with her involvement throughout campus. Full-time students in their senior year of study with at least a 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply.
Ferguson Farm Inc. Equestrian and Pre-Vet Scholarship
Robert Ferguson established the Ferguson Farm Inc. Equestrian and Pre-Vet Scholarship. Two scholarships are awarded annually, one each to an Equestrian Studies major and a Pre-Veterinary Medicine major. The scholarships are awarded to students entering their third or fourth year of study who have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Findlay Civic Band Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voice to your Values Campaign, the Findlay Civic Band established this scholarship to recognize students with outstanding performance in instrumental band. This scholarship is awarded through an audition process to students participating in the instrumental band program at UF who have at least a 2.8 GPA.
Florence F. Overmire Scholarship
Through her bequest, the Florence F. Overmire Scholarship was established. This scholarship helps students achieve their goal of obtaining a college degree. Recipients may be in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year and must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Flowers Family Theatre Production/Design Scholarship
The Flowers family established the Flowers Family Theatre Production/Design Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay to encourage students to become actively involved in the theatre production program during their time on campus. This scholarship is awarded to Theatre Production/Design majors with a 3.0 GPA or better.
Floyd C. and Stella T. Dickman Librarian's Endowment Fund
Floyd C. and Stella T. Dickman established this fund to assist librarians in attending conferences offered by the Mazza Museum located at the Dr. Jerry Mallett Institute. Mr. Dickman was coordinator of library programs and development and coordinator of the Ohio Center for the Book for the State Library of Ohio prior to retiring in 1999. In addition to serving on the Mazza National Advisory Board, he was a member of committees to select the winning children's books for the prestigious Caldecott Award and the Newbery Medal. Mrs. Dickman is retired as an assistant manager and children's librarian for the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
Fred and Dorothy (Dressler 1919) Gatchel Scholarship
The Fred 1920 and Dorothy (Dressler 1919) Gatchel Scholarship was established through a bequest from the Gatchel estate in l989. It is awarded annually to a student who has an interest in music.
Frederick Kremer Jr. Scholarship
The friends and family of Frederick Kremer Jr. have established the Frederick Kremer Jr. Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Mr. Kremer was a UF trustee from 1993 to 1998. He received an honorary Doctor of Corporate Management in 1998. He was instrumental in establishing the endowment policy at the University of Findlay and was a very successful businessman. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Business who carries a 3.0 or better GPA.
G. G. Bruer Award in Creative Writing
Garnet Thompson 1910 established the G. G. Bruer Award in Creative Writing in 1972 to honor G. G. Bruer, professor of English, Greek and history from 1900-1928. The award was created to encourage the development of quality creative writing among students at the University of Findlay.
G.N. Nicholson Scholarship
The G.N. Nicholson Scholarship was established by G. Norman and Jane E. Nicholson in 1989. As a University trustee emeritus, Mr. Nicholson provided outstanding leadership to UF. This scholarship is an endowed scholarship established to provide recognition and assistance to incoming freshmen who have exhibited strong leadership roles while enrolled in high school. Students should rank in the upper quarter of their graduating classes.
GAR Foundation Scholarship
The GAR Foundation Scholarship was established by the GAR Foundation of Akron, Ohio. The scholarship may be applied to a student’s tuition, fees, room, board, or books. Preference is given to high school graduates from Summit County, Ohio, with scholastic ability and financial need.
Garnet Thompson Memorial Scholarship
In 1992, Garnet Thompson 1910 bequeathed a sum of money to the University of Findlay to be used for scholarship purposes. The University’s Cabinet voted unanimously to honor Ms. Thompson by allocating her scholarship to support the valedictorian/salutatorian scholarship program at the University of Findlay.
Garver Oxley Memorial Scholarship
Established by donations in his memory, the Garver Oxley ’41 Memorial Scholarship was established to recognize Mr. Oxley for his many years of support of the University of Findlay. Mr. Oxley was an outstanding student athlete, serving as captain of the football team. The scholarship provides assistance to students who participate on the varsity football team. Preference is given to Ohio residents from Hancock and Sandusky counties.
Gary and Shirley Cole Nursing Scholarship (Operating)
Gary and Shirley Cole established the Gary and Shirley Cole Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay to assist students pursuing a future career in nursing. Scholarship awards are available to students who are admitted into the Nursing program that have a 3.0 GPA or above.
Gary L. Cramer II Endowed Scholarship
The family and friends of Gary L. Cramer II established, in his memory and in recognition of his achievements and his dedication to the University of Findlay, the Gary L. Cramer II Endowed Scholarship Fund. Gary was a political science faculty member who inspired enthusiasm for taking the next step on what could be a sometimes rocky pathway to success. This scholarship assists full-time students majoring in Political Science who carry at least a 3.0 GPA.
Gateway To The World Operating Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voices to Your Values Campaign, the Gateway To The World Operating Scholarship Fund was established. This fund supports students from the University of Findlay to study the world and encourages learning about other cultures. Students must be full-time in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Gebhardt Memorial Fund for English Faculty Development Endowment Fund
Drs. Richard C. and Barbara G. Gebhardt, former English faculty members at Findlay College, established this endowment to provide the awardee with the resources needed for faculty development.
Gene and Alice (Stroude ’28) Winegardner Scholarship
Alice P. (Stroude ’28) Winegardner established the Gene and Alice Winegardner Scholarship with a bequest from her estate. Preference is given to students from Findlay or Hancock County with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Gene and Elaine Stevens Oiler Basketball Scholarship Endowment Fund
Gene and Elaine Stevens established the Gene and Elaine Stevens Oiler Basketball Scholarship Endowment Fund in 2019 in support of a member of the UF basketball teams. Recipients must participate in the men’s or women’s basketball program and be in good academic standing.
George and Elaine Blackburn Memorial Scholarship
The George ’36 and Elaine (Bright ’36) Blackburn Memorial Scholarship was established by family and friends in 1988 and is awarded annually to an outstanding junior or senior who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and motivational qualities on the varsity football team. Also, the recipient should have distinguished himself as a student and a leader in other campus activities.
George and Nellie Crosby Scholarship
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Crosby, the George and Nellie Crosby Scholarship is awarded to a freshman majoring in Business at UF, who displays distinct Christian ethics and leadership qualities by involvement in extracurricular activities in high school or preparatory school. George B. and Nellie Crosby were Mr. Philip Crosby’s grandparents.
George and Shirlee Whitson Endowed Choral Concert Support Fund
Annual distributions are intended to defray expenses of concerts performed by University of Findlay choral ensembles which feature University students and/or community members. Said distributions may include but are not limited to the purchase of sheet music, royalties, venue expenses, guest artist performance fees, advertising expenses, etc.
George E. Countryman Scholarship
Mr. Countryman wished to remember the University of Findlay, with which he had the pleasure to be involved with during his lifetime. Established through his bequest, this scholarship is his way of thanking the University and helping UF to continue its mission. The earnings from this scholarship are to be used for academic scholarships for worthy students enrolled in at UF.
George R. Lanagan Sr. Scholarship
Through her bequest, Elizabeth L. Lanagan established the George R. Lanagan Sr. Scholarship honoring her late husband. This scholarship is awarded to students participating in a musical program at the University of Findlay (in even years) and to students participating in intercollegiate athletics (odd years). A 3.0 GPA must be maintained.
George W. '65, and Sons Christopher and Robert Drummond Football Scholarship
George W. Drummond ’65 established the George W. ’65, and sons Christopher and Robert Drummond Football Scholarship Endowment Fund to recognize the education and scholarship support he received at the University of Findlay. With the encouragement of his father and his high school football coach, George Drummond attended Findlay College to play football and obtain a degree in education. George received a partial scholarship for football and worked part-time to support his education while he was here. Because of the scholarship support he was given, the education that Findlay afforded him, and the caring, wholesome atmosphere provided by Coach Houdeshell and other faculty and staff, George decided to pay it forward by endowing a scholarship for student-athletes pursuing their education at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to a student-athlete enrolled in the football program who has a GPA of 2.5 or above.
Gerald R. and Florence G. Collins Graduate Assistantship Fund
Established by Florence G. Collins in 1993, the Gerald R. and Florence G. Collins Graduate Assistantship Fund provides assistance to students enrolled in the University of Findlay’s Master of Arts in Education program with a specialization in special education. The scholarship is renewable, provided the student remains in good academic standing. In return for the stipend, recipients should work in the Master of Arts in Education office.
Geraldine Moss Operating Scholarship
This scholarship was established to provide financial support to female graduates of Findlay High School who are not married. More specific requirements may be obtained through the financial aid office.
Gertrude O. Anderson Scholarship Fund
Gertrude O. Anderson established the Gertrude O. Anderson Scholarship Fund in 1993 for students who have a declared major in nuclear medicine, occupational therapy or physical therapy.
Gift of Hope Hispanic Scholarship
The undergraduate language and culture program at the University of Findlay has established this scholarship to assist its students in furthering their education at UF. This scholarship is awarded to a Hispanic or Latino student who is a permanent resident of the United States, is a natural citizen of the United States or is enrolled in an approved major with a major or minor in a foreign language or with an endorsement in TESOL or bilingual/multicultural studies and at least a 2.0 GPA.
Gladys L. DeLong Memorial Nursing Scholarship
In honor of his late wife, Earl DeLong ’48, established the Gladys L. DeLong Memorial Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Gladys was dedicated to the nursing profession, and helped countless patients over the course of her career. Gladys served in the U.S.Navy Nurse Corps in World War II, and was recognized for her service at the dedication of the Women in Military Service monument in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Gladys worked as an RN for 13 years at Mercy Hospital and 17 years at the Tiffin Development Center. After retirement, Gladys served as s surgical hostess at Mercy Hospital, as well as on the board of trustees at the Ritz Theater. This scholarship is awarded to a student who exemplifies the compassion and dedication a profession in nursing requires. Recipients may be in their current freshmen, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study at the University of Findlay, and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Glenn and Helen Stout Endowed Fund for the Alumni House
Established by Dr. Glenn ’42 and Helen (Beery ’44) Stout in 1997; the fund provides earnings to enhance the University of Findlay’s Alumni Center. Dr. Stout was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree in 1973.

Dr. Glenn E. ’42 and Helen (Beery ’44) Stout established the Glenn and Helen Stout Scholarship to recognize students with a major in the natural sciences area. Preference is given to students interested in atmospheric and/or water sciences. Dr. Stout received an honorary Doctor of Science degree in 1973.
Goodwin-Cave Occupational Therapy Program Endowment Fund
Dr. Cyndy and Mr. Greg Goodwin established this scholarship to support activities or programs that are beneficial to the Occupational Therapy Department.
Gordon and Marilyn Macklin Merit Scholarship
The Gordon and Marilyn Macklin Merit Scholarship was established by Gordon and Marilyn Macklin in 1986. Mr. Macklin received a Doctor of Laws degree in 1979, and Mrs. Macklin served as a UF trustee from 1986-89. Because of Mr. Macklin’s distinguished career as an executive leader in corporate finance, capital formation, international banking and the National Association of Securities Dealers, this award is given annually to Business students with outstanding academic records.
Grace Leonard Farrell ’36 and Christina Taylor Florence ’94 Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Edward and Melinda Taylor have established this scholarship in memory of Grace Leonard Farrell, Melinda’s mother, and in honor of Christina Taylor Florence, Edward and Melinda’s daughter. Grace was a 1936 graduate of Findlay College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in social sciences. Christina, a 1994 graduate of the University of Findlay, received a degree in primary education. This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Education having a GPA of 3.2 or better.
Great Lakes Appaloosa Horse Club Operating Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Great Lakes Appaloosa Horse Club to assist equestrian students with their higher education at the University of Findlay. Students receiving this scholarship must have experience or interest in Appaloosas and have a 3.2 GPA or better.
Great Lakes Conference Churches of God Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the Great Lakes Conference Churches of God established in 2010, the Great Lakes Conference Churches of God Scholarship Endowment Fund. This scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student who is a member of a church in the Great Lakes Conference. The student must attend church regularly and a pastoral recommendation from his or her home church is required. He or she must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and must apply for this scholarship through the Great Lakes Conference Churches of God office.
Greenwood-Ehr Prize in Communication
Established in 1985 by James G. Greenwood, UF associate professor of communication, in memory of his grandparents Harry and Rose Greenwood and Francis and Lyda Ehr, the Greenwood-Ehr Prize is awarded to a graduating senior or seniors majoring in Communication.
Grob Systems Inc. Scholarship
The Grob Systems Inc. Scholarship was established by Grob Systems Inc., which is located in Bluffton, Ohio. Burkhart Grob, the founder of Grob Systems Inc., received an honorary doctorate from the University of Findlay in 1993. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is a resident of Hancock County, Ohio, and who has a 3.5 or better GPA. The scholarship is renewable.
GSW Manufacturing, Inc. Study Abroad Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, GSW Manufacturing, Inc. established the GSW Manufacturing, Inc. Study Abroad Scholarship Endowment Fund. Established in 1989, GSW is the North American headquarters for its parent company G.S. Electech of Toyota City, Japan. The company manufactures electrical and/or hose assemblies. This fund encourages students at the University of Findlay to learn about the Japanese culture. The fund supports full-time domestic students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study to help cover costs to study in Japan.
Gupta Business Faculty Global Studies Endowment
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, Dr. Shiv Gupta and friends established the Gupta Business Faculty Global Studies Endowment Fund. This fund supports full-time faculty who are interested in traveling abroad, as a group, to learn more about other countries' cultures. This enables faculty to broaden their knowledge and understanding of other cultures and return to the classroom to share what they have learned with students at the University of Findlay.
Gussie Moffitt Endowment
Established by an estate gift in 1977, the Gussie Moffitt Endowment is used to support scholarship awards at the University of Findlay.
Gwen L. Kuenzli Scholarship
Mildred G. Naus established the Gwen L. Kuenzli Scholarship in honor of her daughter, a UF faculty member since 1983. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding juniors or seniors who are pursuing a degree in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences with preference given to communication majors. A 3.0 GPA is required for consideration for the scholarship.
H. Faye Newman '70 Nursing Operating Scholarship
Faye Newman established the H. Faye Newman ’70 Nursing Operating Scholarship in honor and celebration of her career in nursing. Ms. Newman served as a registered nurse for 50 years in different capacities and venues. After learning how the nursing program had grown and changed since her time at Findlay, she wanted to be involved in making sure that nursing students have the training and support they need to succeed. She sees this commitment as a way to show future nurses that others care about their education. This scholarship is awarded annually to students accepted into the program and plan to major in Nursing; Recipients must have a 2.80 G.P.A. or higher.
Hal and Peggy Moore Operating Scholarship Fund
Harold “Hal” and Peggy Moore established this scholarship to support three students in the Western Equestrian Program who maintain a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.00 or above. The preference of this scholarship shall be given to a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior on the Western Equestrian Teams and/or students who assist with the “Send Your Horse to College Program”.
Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative Inc. Operating Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative and is for current high school seniors, a high school graduate planning to attend UF, or a student currently attending UF and must be one of the following: 1) a member of HWE; 2) Live on the co-op’s lines; 3) The dependent child or ward of a member or a person living on the co-op’s lines. A HWE scholarship verification form must be completed and the recipient must carry a 3.0 GPA. Students eligible for tuition reimbursement through their employers are not eligible.
Harada Seeds for Growth Scholarship
Through the generosity of Dr. Fumiko Harada, founder of the Japanese Program at the University of Findlay, the Harada Seeds for Growth Scholarship Endowment Fund was established. This scholarship is awarded to outstanding students of the Japanese program who demonstrate not only academic excellence, but also the ability to contribute to others beyond the program.
Harold "Herk" '54 and Patte Wolfe Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Herk '54 and Patte Wolfe established the Harold "Herk" '54 and Patte Wolfe Basketball Endowment Fund to support the men's basketball program at the University of Findlay. Herk and Patte established this fund in memory of former head basketball coach, Don Renninger '40. Herk played for Coach Renninger and has made this gift in fond memory of having the pleasure of serving as one of "Don's Boys."
Harold and Lucille Crosby Scholarship
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Crosby, the Harold and Lucille Crosby Scholarship provides assistance to an incoming freshman majoring in the area of natural sciences. The recipient should demonstrate distinct Christian ethics and have leadership qualities as indicated by involvement in extracurricular activities in high school or preparatory school. Harold and Lucille Crosby were Mr. Philip Crosby’s aunt and uncle.
Harold P. "Herk" '54 and Patricia (Gohlke) Wolfe Center for Alumni, Parents & Friends
In conjunction with The Unversity of Findlay's Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Herk and Patte Wolfe established the Harold P. "Herk" '54 and Patricia (Gohlke) Wolfe Center for Alumni, Parents & Friends Endowment Fund. Annual distributions will be used at the discretion of the director of the Wolfe Center for Alumni, Parents & Friends, and shall be used to support the engagement and outreach activities of the center.
Harold P. Wolfe College of Business Dean’s Excellence Endowment
This endowment was established in conjunction with the 125th anniversary of the University of Findlay. This endowment shall be used by the dean of the College of Business to advance the academic priorities of the college. It provides the dean with the resources needed to achieve a higher level of excellence by funding activities over and above those funded by the college’s normal operating budget.
Harry M. and Mary Snyder Kirk Vocal Music Scholarship
The Harry M. and Mary Snyder Kirk Vocal Music Scholarship Endowment Fund was established with proceeds from the Mrs. Mary Snyder Kirk Charitable Remainder Trust. This scholarship is funded in tribute to Mr. and Mrs. Kirk’s love for and support of music making and their continued encouragement of young musical artists. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is a member of the Concert-Chorale and actively involved in the vocal music program at UF. The recipient must have a 3.0 GPA.
Harry M. Kirk Memorial Scholarship
The Harry M. Kirk 1916 Memorial Scholarship was established in 1986 by Mary Snyder Kirk in memory of her husband, who studied business administration at UF. Mr. Kirk was a highly successful businessman in the milling industry, wholesale grocery business and real estate. He gave generously of his time and resources to support the college and assist students. The scholarship is awarded annually to an academically outstanding junior or senior Business student.
Hazel and Bert Miller Business Scholarship
Hazel Miller established the Hazel and Bert Miller Business Scholarship at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Business who maintains a 3.0 GPA.
HeartLight Pharmacy Services Operating Scholarship
Eric Schaaf, owner of HeartLight Pharmacy Services, and his staff established this operating scholarship. HeartLight has two full-service nuclear pharmacies located in Lima and Columbus, Ohio, that proudly serve Ohio. Part of the mission statement for HeartLight Pharmacy Services is: “...We will provide educational opportunities to promote professional and personal growth for all of our customers and employees -- Grow!” This scholarship enhances the learning opportunities for students enrolled in the Nuclear Medicine Institute Program. The recipient shall be enrolled in the one-year certificate program offered by the Nuclear Medicine Institute at UF and shall be an Ohio resident.
Helen O. Reimund Scholarship
Established by friends and family, the Helen O. Reimund Scholarship is awarded annually to full-time students majoring in English and in their junior or senior years. This scholarship is renewable if the recipients maintain a GPA of 3.5 or better.
Helen Reimund Speaker Series Endowment
Established in 1988 in honor of Miss Reimund, longtime professor of English and administrator at UF, by some of her former students, this endowment funds an annual lecture on campus by a noted author/artist of children’s books. Because of her commitment to and love of literature, speakers must be accomplished authors as well as internationally recognized artists.
Heritage Scholarship for African-American Students
Established through the generosity of a member of the UF staff, this scholarship is to be awarded to sophomore and junior students of African-American descent. The recipient(s) shall have at least a cumulative 2.8 GPA or above through two semesters of the previous academic year.
Hospitality Management Scholarship
Friends of the University of Findlay have established the Hospitality Management Scholarship Endowment Fund. This scholarship will assist students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study who are enrolled in the Hospitality Management Program.
Howard and Carolyn Marvin Scholarship
Through a bequest, Carolyn Marvin established the Howard 1925 and Carolyn Marvin Scholarship Fund at the University of Findlay. Recipients of this scholarship must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Hunter/Jumper Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Fund Drive, the faculty and staff at the University of Findlay James L. Child, Jr. Equestrian Complex established the Hunter/Jumper Scholarship Endowment Fund to encourage students to become hunter/jumper trainers and/or instructors. Recipients must be active as part of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) team or Horse Club and must demonstrate good sportsmanship, excellent leadership skills, and a strong work ethic toward the betterment of the equine history. Recipients must have a strong passion for horses and have at least a 3.2 GPA.
I.N. Heminger Scholarship
The I.N. Heminger (1890) Scholarship was established in 1981 by Edwin L. Heminger, Findlay Publishing Company and The Courier in honor of Edwin’s grandfather, I.N. Heminger, who received his diploma in 1890. The scholarship is awarded annually to honor a sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in liberal arts or sciences.
Ida Fern (Wayne ’29) and Albert Castile Religious Studies Scholarship
Through her bequest, Fern Castile established the Ida Fern (Wayne ’29) and Albert Castile Religious Studies Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Mrs. Castile was a Churches of God missionary to India and resided there through World War II. The recipient of this scholarship must be majoring in Religious Studies with an emphasis in pastoral or Biblical studies preparing for Christian ministry.
IHSA Western Operating Scholarship
This scholarship was established at the University of Findlay to reward Western Equestrian students for their extra hard work during the academic year assisting with the IHSA Team. Students receiving this scholarship must have a 3.0 GPA or better.
International Center Endowed Scholarship
The International Center Scholarship was established by friends, alumni and the faculty of the University of Findlay International Center. The Center was designated as the Department of Language and Culture in 1998. The recipient must be pursuing a major in languages through the Language and Culture Department.
J. Paul Mellott Instrumental Music Scholarship
Through a bequest, Mr. Mellott established the J. Paul Mellott Instrumental Music Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student currently playing an instrument at UF with preference being piano or organ. Mr. Mellott had a love for music and began his career as the organ accompanist for the silent movies at the age of 18 at the Victory Theater in Findlay. He also served as organist for his church. Being an alum, Mr. Mellott wished to assist students with their education and the gift of music.
Jack '65 and Jeanne '66 Wasbro Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Jack D. '65 and G. Jeanne (Williams '66) Wasbro established the Jack and Jeanne Wasbro Basketball Endowment to support the men's varsity basketball program at the University of Findlay. This endowment will be used to maintain the high levels of excellence in the University's men's varsity basketball program.
Jack '65 and Jeanne '66 Wasbro Business Scholarship Endowment Fund
Jack ’65 and Jeanne (Williams ’66) Wasbro established this scholarship to support first-generation college students who are Business majors participating in/or have participated in an off-campus internship or co-op experience. This renewable scholarship may be awarded to a student in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study who has a grade point average, G.P.A. of at least 3.00.
Jack '65 and Jeanne '66 Wasbro Education Scholarship Endowment Fund
Jack ’65 and Jeanne (Williams ’66) Wasbro established this scholarship to support first-generation students who are Adolescent Young Adult (AYA) Education majors with first preference to those pursuing the Integrated Language Arts Licensure. This annual scholarship can be awarded to a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior and shall have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Jack and Patricia Taylor Instrumental Music Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor established the Jack and Patricia Taylor Instrumental Music Scholarship Endowment Fund to recognize outstanding students and to encourage the study of instrumental music. Jack is a retired director of bands at the University. His wife, Pat, holds two degrees from the University: an associate’s degree in Humanities (’89) and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting (’93). She has performed in the bands for many years as a community member and has been a strong supporter of the band program in Findlay. Any full-time student in the instrumental music program with sufficient financial need and a GPA of 3.4 or higher may be considered for this scholarship. In addition, the award is to be granted in the fall semester to the student who meets these qualifications and who receives the highest score in auditions for membership in the University Wind Ensemble.
Jackson E. Betts Scholarship
Created for students who are interested in the discipline of political science and who display potential for leadership in public affairs and government service. A native of Findlay, Congressman Betts was a U.S. Representative from 1951 to 1972 for Ohio’s Eighth Congressional District, a former speaker of the Ohio House (1945-1946) and a local attorney. He passed away at the age of 89 in 1993. Mr. Betts was awarded an honorary doctorate in 1965.
James and Jessica Moses Business Scholarship Endowment Fund
Pamela K. Beall established this scholarship to honor her parents, James and Jessica Moses by supporting an Accounting and/or Economics student who is an active member of ENACTUS – formally known as STIFE (Students in Free Enterprise). The recipient may be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00. Mrs. Beall is a UF graduate and served on the University Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2023.
James “Jim” Heck Scholarship
Beth Bradley Heck established this scholarship to honor her husband. Applicants with an interest in business and/or real estate, investment or development will have first preference. A 2.70 GPA is required.
James A. and Janet B. Miller Mazza Museum Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Dr. James A. Miller established the James A. and Janet B. Miller Memorial Endowment Fund in memory of his late wife, who passed away in 2010. Mrs. Miller was involved with the Mazza Museum since its inception in 1982 and was a founding member and first chairperson of the board of the Mazza Enthusiasts volunteer organization. She also served as co-coordinator of the Mazza Museum Gift Shop. This fund honors her longtime commitment to the Mazza Museum. It provides support for the annual operations of the Mazza Museum and programs beneficial to the Museum.
James C. and Bonnie L. Koehler Scholarship
This scholarship was established at the University of Findlay. Recipients of this scholarship must be a graduate of Findlay City or Hancock County Schools, and be an athletically eligible player on the varsity football, varsity men’s basketball, varsity women’s basketball, varsity baseball or varsity softball teams.
James D. and Judith L. Philipp Award of Excellence for the College of Education
Established in conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and with heartfelt love and dedication to UF, Duane and Judy Philipp established the James D. and Judith L. Philipp Award of Excellence for the College of Education Endowment. This award is to recognize excellence in the areas of teaching, supervision and support of students in the College of Education. Mr. Philipp received his B.S. degree from Findlay College in Business Education in 1959 and his M. Ed. from BGSU in 1976. He joined the UF Board of Trustees in 1979 where he served 24 years and was elected trustee emeritus in May of 2000. He also served 20 years on the Alumni Board of Directors. Mr. Philipp also was a teacher licensure officer and supervisor of field experience students at UF.
James H. Brannigan Musical Theatre Guest Artist Endowment
Margaret (Peggy) McGinty Brannigan established the James H. Brannigan Musical Theatre Guest Artist Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay in honor of her husband’s memory and his longtime support of the arts and musical theatre. Mr. Brannigan displayed his love of music as early as 9 or 10 years old when he took the train downtown on Saturdays to hear Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra. While coping with frequent career transfers as an adult, finding the closest symphony or nearest theater topped his agenda when adapting to each new town. For many years, the University of Findlay contributed many evenings for his enjoyment. This fund provides yearly guest artists of national/international stature to present concert performances for the University and Findlay communities and to work with the UF musical theatre students for a period of concentrated experience.
James I. Poole ’33 Scholarship
The James I. Poole ’33 Scholarship was established by his wife, Betty Poole Holmes. Awarded annually, the scholarship is given to students in a business-related major who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors, with preference given to students who are involved in extracurricular activities, work part-time to meet college expenses, and are residents of Hancock County.
James J. and Marveline Beeson Scholarship
Through a bequest from his trust, James J. Beeson established the James J. and Marveline Beeson Scholarship Endowment Fund. Mr. Beeson moved to Findlay from Arcadia, Ohio, and worked as an accountant at Marathon Oil Company until his retirement in 1971. It was his desire to financially assist students seeking higher education in undergraduate and graduate programs. Applicants must have graduated from a high school in Hancock County, Ohio.
James L. Child Jr. Scholarship
The James L. Child Jr. Scholarship was established in memory of James L. Child Jr., who, as a trustee of the University from 1975-81, was instrumental in establishing Findlay’s Western Equestrian studies program. Mr. Child received an honorary Doctor of Science degree in 1977. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is majoring in Equestrian Studies, with preference given to those in the English Equestrian program.
James L. Thomas Memorial Scholarship
Mr. and Mrs. John (Jack) L. Thomas established the Thomas Jewelers Scholarship fund in 1997. In 2011, they changed the name of the scholarship to the James L. Thomas Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund in memory of their son, Jim, who passed away in 2010. Recipients must be pursuing a major within the College of Business, with preference given to those majoring in Marketing. They must have graduated from a Hancock County high school and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
James M. Schmidt Math Scholarship (Operating)
Mrs. Martha Schmidt established the James M. Schmidt Math Scholarship in memory of her husband. Mr. Schmidt served as an adjunct professor from September 1995 until he became full-time Aug. 1, 2000. He retired as an assistant professor on May 9, 2007. This scholarship will serve as an operating scholarship until such time as it is endowed. Recipients shall be full-time majoring in Mathematics and be in their junior or senior year of study. They shall have at least a 3.0 GPA.
James R. Rettig Sr. Scholarship
Realizing the need for financial assistance for many young people to attend college and being an Arlington High School and the University of Findlay graduate, Mr. James Rettig established the James R. Rettig Sr. Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. The recipient must be an Arlington High School graduate majoring in business and have at least a 2.75 GPA.
James W. ’63 and Karis S. Woodward Female Veterans’ Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Jim ’63 and Karis to honor their daughters, Jill L. Zeto and Judith A. Bunting. Both Jill and Judy are veterans who served their nation in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. The scholarship is offered to female veterans who have been discharged with honorable service in the U.S. Active or Reserve Military Service or are currently serving in the U.S. Active or Reserve Military Service. The recipient must maintain a 2.8 or better GPA.
James W. Child Memorial Scholarship
Lynn R. Child established the James W. Child Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund in memory of her husband, James Child, and to commemorate the efforts of Dr. C. Richard Beckett for conceiving and helping to launch the pre-veterinary medicine program at the University of Findlay. The scholarship honors Dr. James Child, who held a Ph.D. in the history and philosophy of science from Indiana University and who was an astute businessman, professor, and scholar. He and Lynn were named Distinguished Associates of the University of Findlay in 2001. The scholarship is awarded to Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine majors who are utilizing the Dr. C. Richard Beckett Animal Science Building. Recipients may be in any year of study and must have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Jane Eoff Burson Scholarship
The Jane Eoff Burson Scholarship was established in Mrs. Burson’s honor on her birthday in 1993 by her son, John, a UF trustee emeritus. The scholarship is awarded to a female student interested in pursuing a career in business.
Jane J. Tille '57 Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the family of Jane Tille, Findlay College Class of 1957. It is awarded to students who are financially supporting biological children living at home. The recipient may be in any year of study with at least a 2.5 GPA. Mrs. Tille came to Findlay in 1950 with her husband, Raymond J. Tille, M.D. who was entering a medical partnership with Henry Koehler, M.D. Mrs. Tille was a dedicated community volunteer, housewife, and mother of three young children at the time. She had completed two years of college prior to marrying Dr. Tille, and it was her goal to complete her degree at some point. Mrs. Tille was familiar with the demands of balancing a college education while supporting a husband and three children. This scholarship fund was established to support other adults who have children in their care while they complete their English Education degree.
Janet Maule Swartz Scholarship
Dr. Stanley L. Swartz ’70 established the Janet Maule Swartz Scholarship in honor of his wife, Janet Maule Swartz ’70, for her dedication to educating young people. This scholarship is awarded annually to UF students majoring in primary education. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Dr. and Mrs. Swartz are both educators in the areas of primary and special education.
Janet R. January ’64 Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the Janet R. January ’64 Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by her children: Sara Hingson BA ’93, MA ’96, Scott Hingson, Bonnie ’91 and Barry Hamilton, and Susan and Mark ’88 Marshall, and their families, in gratitude for her inspiration and encouragement in the completion of their higher education degrees. Janet is proud that her seven children and their spouses have achieved a total of eight bachelor’s and four master’s degrees. It was her children’s desire that Janet’s philanthropic nature be recognized with the creation of this endowed fund and that many future students will benefit from this scholarship. Janet was the owner/operator of January Accounting and Tax Services in Findlay. Recipients must be full-time students majoring in Accounting and have attended a high school in Findlay or Hancock County, Ohio. Recipients must be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study with at least a 3.5 GPA.
Janice and Dennis Bishop Scholarship
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis E. Bishop established this scholarship to assist students enrolled in the Religious Studies Program who are preparing for Christian ministry and/or church work. First preference will be to students planning to attend Winebrenner Seminary after graduation. Students must be full-time and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Jason Murphy Memorial Scholarship
Michael J. '72 and Sue J. Murphy, parents of Jason Murphy, along with his family and friends, established this scholarship to honor Jason's memory. A 2002 graduate of Reynoldsburg (Ohio) High School, Jason was an aspiring young man and avid golfer. First preference is given to graduates of Reynoldsburg High School or recipients may be students majoring in education with a 2.8 GPA or better.

Through her bequest, Jean (Weaver) Keneagy Rivera ’51 established this scholarship fund at the University of Findlay. Recipients must be full-time student and have at least a 3.0 GPA.

Jeff Doepker Basketball Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Jeff Doepker established this endowment to support the men's varsity basketball program at the University of Findlay. Mr. Doepker and his company, Doepker Group Inc., formerly, Time Services, Inc., are long-time supporters of the men's basketball program, which stems from his respect and fondness of former UF head coach Ron Niekamp that began when Mr. Doepker played basketball for Coach Niekamp at Ottawa-Glandorf High School.
Jeffire Wrestling Scholarship
The family and friends of Thomas and Josie Jeffire have established the Jeffire Wrestling Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. The recipient must be a University varsity wrestler and must meet all standards for academic and athletic eligibility.
Jeffrey R. Seever ’76 Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, this scholarship was established by Jeff Seever ’76 in gratitude for the excellent education he received while at Findlay and the extracurricular experiences he enjoyed. By creating this scholarship, he hoped to enable others to have the same opportunities he did. Recipients must be a member of the UF baseball team and have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Jeremy L. Pemberton ’96 Scholarship
In conjunction with the University of Findlay’s 125th Endowed Fund Drive, Jeremy L. Pemberton established this scholarship to benefit outstanding students pursuing a major within the College of Business. Mr. Pemberton is a 1996 graduate of the University with a bachelor of science degree in economics. He also received his MBA from UF in 1997 and served as a member of the University of Findlay’s Board of Trustees from 2010 to 2015. This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a Dana Scholar, is in his or her junior, or senior year of study and has a 3.7 GPA or better.
Jerry L. Smith Operating Scholarship
The Jerry L. Smith Operating Scholarship was established by Mr. Smith to support the endeavors of students who are pursuing a degree in Education. Jerry is a 1969 graduate of Findlay College and spent his profession in vocational and business education, preparing many students for their future careers in the process. He established this scholarship knowing how important it is to have quality educators. This scholarship is awarded to students who are Education majors in any year of study who have a 2.75 or better G.P.A.
Jesse Snavely Jr. Scholarship
The Jesse Snavely Jr. Scholarship was established by Dr. Snavely and is awarded annually to students who are either members of the Landisville Church of God General Conference, graduates of the Hempfield Area School District or to students majoring in business administration or an associated discipline. Dr. Snavely was a UF Trustee from 1957 to 1974 and received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 1981.

It is because of her love for teaching that this scholarship was established so she could assist in the education of young people -- tomorrow's leaders. John ‘61 and Linda Weaver established this scholarship to assist students majoring in Business at the University of Findlay. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time student who demonstrates leadership qualities and is enthusiastically pursuing a career in Marketing (e.g., sales, advertising or sales promotion) and carries between a 2.6 and 3.0 GPA.
John and Frances Crosby Schott Scholarship
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Crosby, the John and Frances Crosby Schott Scholarship provides assistance to an incoming freshman male or female athlete with any academic major at the University. The recipient must meet the entrance requirements, show distinct Christian ethics, and have leadership qualities as indicated by involvement in extracurricular activities in high school or preparatory school to receive this scholarship.
John and Frances Eoff Scholarship
The John and Frances Eoff Scholarship was established by their daughter, Jane Eoff Burson, and grandson, John Burson, in 1973. The scholarship is awarded annually to deserving students from Hancock County or the state of Ohio.
John and Margaret Firmin Scholarship
The John and Margaret Firmin Scholarship is an endowed merit scholarship established by Margaret Firmin ’81 and her husband, John C. Firmin, to be awarded to a student majoring in the fine arts. Recipients should have an outstanding academic record entering their junior or senior year. Students must be dedicated to theatre as demonstrated by excellent participation and growth in theatre work at the University of Findlay. Mrs. Firmin received an honorary Doctor of Performing Arts in 1994.
John and Marge Cindric Scholarship
The family and friends of John ‘41 and Marge Cindric have established this scholarship to be given to a student who is enrolled in any major within the College of Education with first preference to an intervention specialist major. The recipient must have at least a 2.75 GPA.

John C. and Audrice M. Hutson Scholarship
The John C. and Audrice M. Hutson Scholarship was established in 1991 to honor John C. Hutson ’48 on his retirement from Findlay College after 25 years of service and the many contributions made by his wife, Audie (Miller ’46) Hutson. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student with a humanities major who also has an interest in the sciences.
John L. Houston ’42 Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2006 upon Mr. Houston’s passing by his family and friends. John wanted to assist students in the same manner that he was supported. This scholarship is awarded to a Business major who is a graduate of Van Buren High School, or another Hancock County High School. Recipients must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
John R. ’53 and Jo Ann (H ’00) Davidson Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2006 by Jo Ann Davidson. Having worked for the Findlay Chamber of Commerce for a number of years, Jo Ann realized the importance of the contributions of those deeply interested and involved in their community. The Honorable Jo Ann Davidson was the former Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives and a former vice president of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. She served on the University of Findlay’s Board of Trustees from 1994 to 2015. She received an honorary degree in 2000. John R. Davidson attended Findlay College on the GI Bill. Together with a number of his classmates in the 1945 class at Findlay High School, he missed his graduation due to his service in the Armed Forces in World War II. John returned to Findlay after he was discharged and graduated from Findlay High School. He then enrolled in Findlay College and graduated in 1953. This scholarship is awarded annually to a Findlay High School graduate who exhibits a commitment to public and/or community service, such as doing volunteer work with non-profit agencies or within the community. The recipient must be a full-time UF student and have a 3.2 GPA.
John R. and Barbara F. Murray Award
For outstanding academic leadership performance, the Physician Assistant Student Endowment Fund was established. Dr. Paul T. and Jane M. Davis established this award to recognize an outstanding graduating physician assistant.
John R. and Marion E. Van Nice Choral Scholarship
The John R. and Marion E. Van Nice Choral Scholarship was established in 1991 by friends and UF alumni. “Doc John” joined the Findlay College faculty in 1947 and retired in 1980. Mrs. Van Nice played a supporting role throughout her husband’s Findlay College teaching career.
John R. and Marion E. Van Nice Instrumental Music Scholarship
The John R. and Marion E. Van Nice Instrumental Music Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 2002 at the University of Findlay by Jim and Karen (Van Nice ’72) Spurgat in memory of “Doc John,” Professor Emeritus and Honorary Alumnus, and his wife, Marion, for their love of music and years of providing assistance, guidance, advice and encouragement to students. Scholarship awards are made annually. Said awards shall be made from income and/or realized appreciation determined in accordance with the University’s investment and spending policy in effect from time to time.
John Stanovich Pharmacy Entrepreneurial Scholarship Endowment Fund
The friends of John Stanovich established this scholarship to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of University of Findlay Pharmacy students. The recipient shall be a pharmacy major in good academic standing in their last two (2) years of the Pharm.D. program. Recipients of this scholarship should demonstrate leadership skills by holding a leadership position with a campus organization. It is required to have the recipient(s) complete an essay describing the value of entrepreneurship in changing the practice of pharmacy and improving patient care.
John W. 1914 and Hester (Powell 1919) Grimm Business Scholarship
Hester Powell Grimm established the Grimm Business Scholarship in 1993 to assist students who have a declared major in the business administration program within the College of Business. The scholarship is renewable with a 3.0 GPA.

In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Don R. Carter established the Jonathan Binder '11 Scholarship Endowment Fund in honor of his grandson. Jonathan graduated from the University of Findlay May 7, 2011, with a bachelor of science degree in international business and business management with a minor in economics. Mr. Carter served on the University's Board of Trustees from February 2003 to May 2013. This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in business with a 3.0 GPA or better.

Marilyn K. Klinger established this endowment to provide support to the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Science instrumental music department. This fund is utilized for equipment purchases and special needs not covered by annual operating budgets of the instrumental music area, such as purchasing of instruments, music, props, apparel, and travel expenses.
Josephine A. Wilson ’29 Scholarship
Through a charitable remainder trust, Josephine A. Wilson ’29 established this scholarship at the University of Findlay. Mrs. Wilson was a longtime supporter of Findlay and placed importance on education, a legacy living on through this scholarship.
Julie and J. Steve '69 Welton Family Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voce to Your Values campaign, Julie and Steve Welton established the Julie and J. Steve ’69 Welton Family Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. This scholarship honors Steve’s mother, Louise F. Welton Warren, Findlay College Class of 1958, and her many years of service to teaching children. Mrs. Warren taught kindergarten out of her home until she became one of Findlay’s first kindergarten teachers. This scholarship is awarded to students who are education majors, are graduates of a Hancock County, Ohio, high school and have a 2.5 GPA or better.

Julie Christiansen established the Julie Christiansen Mazza Museum Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Julie volunteers at the Mazza Museum as a Docent. This fund is used for the operations of the Mazza Museum.

Justin Gladieux ‘07 established this scholarship to support students who are enrolled in the College of Business and are members of the University of Findlay Football team with a walk-on position. The recipient of this scholarship can be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior who maintains a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 2.50.
Katharine Ballard Reed Memorial Scholarship
The Katharine Ballard Reed Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. Charles Reed and Dr. Joseph Reed in memory of their mother, Katharine Ballard Reed, a lifelong resident of Findlay and neighbor of the UF campus. The scholarship is awarded annually to students in the field of natural sciences with outstanding academic records entering their junior or senior year.
Katherine L. and Roy R. Schwinn Scholarship Endowment Fund
Katherine L. Schwinn established this annual scholarship to support a business student and graduate of Findlay High School or any Hancock County High School. The recipient shall be in their freshmen, sophomore, junior, or senior year, maintain a GPA of 3.00 or above demonstrate a good work ethic, and volunteer in the Findlay community.
Keck Family Memorial Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, John M. Keck, Class of 1956, established this fund to honor the memory of his parents and aunt, Martin Iruh Keck, Carrie Belva Keck and Leola Trauger Keck. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student(s) or to a graduate student. They may be enrolled in any approved major in an academic area of their choice. Keith Mohr ’67 Family Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Fund Drive, the Keith Mohr '67 Family Scholarship Endowment Fund was established at the University of Findlay. Mr. Mohr is a 1967 graduate of Findlay College/the University of Findlay. He retired from the Findlay City School system after 36 years of educating students. This scholarship established to support students as they continue their education. The scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who are majoring in middle childhood education and have a 3.5 GPA or better.
Ken Walerius Student Involvement Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, and acting on their strongly held belief that education is of utmost importance, the University of Findlay's Office of Student Services staff members established the Ken Walerius Student Involvement Scholarship Endowment Fund. Scholarship assistance will be awarded to full-time undergraduate students pursuing a degree in an approved major. Recipients shall display exemplary involvement through participation in campus organizations, community not-for-profit organizations, or other local, state or national service groups. Recipients shall also have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Kenneth and Laurie Vaupel Family Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Ken Vaupel established the Kenneth and Laurie Vaupel Family Basketball Endowment Fund to support the men's varsity basketball program at the University of Findlay. Vaupel is the co-owner of Alfagreen Supreme. Founded in 1960, Alfagreen Supreme has gained experience in growing and supplying dehydrated alfalfa to domestic and international markets. Through decades of hard work and innovation, their privately-held entity continues to seed success through enhanced products and service.
Kenneth and Susan Brooks Family Scholarship
The Kenneth and Susan Brooks Family Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay was established by Kenneth and Susan Brooks in honor of their children, Andrew Brooks '03 and Kathryn (Brooks '06) Brown. Both Andrew and Kathryn are graduates of the University of Findlay, College of Education. Kenneth and Susan established this scholarship to encourage those that are first generation university students. Being first generation university students, they wanted to assist others that are pursuing their education and will be the future instructors of the next generation. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior with at least a 3.2 G.P.A.
Kenneth B. Cummins Mathematics Scholarship
The Kenneth B. Cummins Mathematics Scholarship was established through his bequest to be awarded annually to a student majoring in mathematics. The recipient may be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior and shall have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Kenneth E. Zirkle Scholarship Fund
The Kenneth E. Zirkle Scholarship is used to support the President’s Award, which is distributed as a result of the annual scholarship competition held in February. Students who have been accepted for admission to UF, have a secondary school GPA of 3.8 or above and who are enrolled in a secondary school outside of Hancock County, Ohio, are invited to compete for the award.
Kenneth Williams ’29 Scholarship
Brian Washington ’84, a trustee of the University of Findlay from 2005 to 2022, established the Kenneth Williams ’29 Scholarship Endowment Fund to assist African-American students enrolled full-time at Findlay. Mr. Williams was one of the first African-American graduates of Findlay College/the University of Findlay. Recipients may be in any year of study and have a 2.8 GPA or better.
Kern Family UF Archives Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th anniversary of the University of Findlay, Dr. G. Richard ’54 and Sharon (Sheldon ’64) Kern and the Classes of 1958 and 2008, have established the Kern Family UF Archives Endowment Fund. This fund shall be used for the maintenance and preservation of historical items of Findlay College/the University of Findlay and is subject to normal University oversight. Dr. Kern was named professor emeritus of history upon his retirement in 1998 after teaching for nearly 30 years, and he is the author of the official institutional history, “Findlay College: The First Hundred Years.” As a historian, Dr. Kern has worked to preserve Findlay’s legacy for future generations.
Koehler Equestrian Scholarship Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Robin and John Koehler established the Koehler Equestrian Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in equestrian studies who are in their sophomore, junior, or senior years of study, and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Recipients are selected by the equestrian faculty and riding instructors.
Kristen L. Slater Outstanding Western Equestrian Student Award Endowment Fund
The family of Kristen L. Slater ’91 established the Kristen L. Slater Outstanding Western Equestrian Student Award Endowment Fund to be given to a junior or senior student in the Western Equestrian Program.
Kuenzli/Harada International Student Scholarship
This scholarship was established by students and friends of the University of Findlay to honor Gwen L. Kuenzli and Dr. Fumiko Harada. Mrs. Kuenzli retired from UF in 2000 as the former executive director of internal affairs and professor emerita of speech and has been director of international student advising and the Honors Program. Dr. Harada is a retired professor of Japanese and special assistant to the president.
Kyla Wisne Memorial Choir Scholarship
The Kyla Wisne Memorial Choir Scholarship was established by the University of Findlay, students, friends, University faculty members and the Wisne family in memory of Ms. Wisne who died in an automobile accident in the autumn of 1994. She was a sophomore pre-veterinary medicine major. The scholarship is awarded to pre-vet medicine majors who are also members of the University choir.
Larry '63 and Ruth McDougle Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Anniversary of the University of Findlay, Larry and Ruth McDougle established the Larry '63 and Ruth McDougle Scholarship Endowment Fund. Dr. and Mrs. McDougle provided this scholarship based on their belief that higher education, especially in the sciences and mathematics, represents the key to future economic development in this country and they want to assist students in having the same opportunity. Dr. McDougle received an outstanding education at the University of Findlay, and he went on to have a successful career in higher education as a faculty member and as president of Northwest State Community College. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in educational leadership by the University of Findlay in 1998 in recognition of his achievements. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time physics or mathematics major in any year of study with a 3.0 or better GPA.
Larry G. White Scholarship Endowment Fund
Larry G. White ‘59 established this scholarship to support students majoring in religious studies or social work and are active with campus ministry activities. The recipients can be in their sophomore or junior year and have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.75 or above.
Larry L. and Joann M. Miles Scholarship
Established by their family and friends, the Larry L. and Joann Miles Scholarship Fund honors Joann’s passion for the promotion of reading and literacy. Joann believed strongly that art in children’s picture books and art at the Mazza Museum should be used to foster a desire to read. This scholarship supports students majoring in Education with an emphasis in English/Language Arts and/or reading endorsement. First preference will be given to students majoring in Early Childhood Education with a reading endorsement who exhibit a keen interest in literacy. Applicants must also volunteer or be a student director at the Mazza Museum, be a sophomore, junior, or senior, and have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Leah Buchanan Mazza Library Endowment Fund
This fund was established in 1999 by Leah Buchanan as an endowed fund to buy books and materials for the Mazza Library.
Leah Huffman Buchman Scholarship Endowment Fund
Leah Buchanan established this annual scholarship to support a student who graduated from Van Buren High School who is in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study at the University of Findlay. The recipient shall have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 2.50 or above.
Leon Charles Lantz Scholarship Endowment Fund
Through his bequest, Professor Leon C. Lantz established this scholarship. He taught political science at Findlay College from 1965-1972.
Leslie ’35 and Eva (Royer ’34) Baker Scholarship
The Leslie and Eva Baker Scholarship was established by their family and friends. The scholarship is awarded to students who are graduates of Hancock County high schools and who are preparing for careers in service-oriented vocations.
LGBT Program Initiatives Operating Endowment
In conjunction with the University of Findlay's Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Marian S. Lowe '97 established the LGBT Program Initiatives Endowment Fund to support the advancement and well-being of students enrolled at UF.
LGBTQ+ Legacy Scholarship Endowment Fund
Skylar Mettert and Kit Tiell established the LGBTQ+ Legacy Scholarship Endowment Fund to assist a student who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. The recipients of this scholarship can be in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and are in good academic standing.
Lois Annabelle (Foltz), Frank R. and Sharon G. Milligan Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the family of Lois A. Foltz established the Lois Annabelle (Foltz), Frank R. and Sharon G. Milligan Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay in her honor. In 2011, the name of Lois' daughter, Sharon G. Milligan, was added to this fund in honor of her retirement from the University of Findlay. In 2021, the name of Lois' son, Frank R. Milligan, was added to this fund to honor his many contributions. Recipients must be undergraduate students majoring in a program in the College of Health Professions or students majoring in an undergraduate licensure program in the College of Education. To be eligible, a recipient must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a 3.25 GPA or better.
Lora Wiest Burgderfer Scholarship
Established through her estate, the Lora Wiest Burgderfer Scholarship supports students attending the University of Findlay with a demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipients remain in good academic standing.
Lorain Bilingual Scholarship
Established by the Nordson Foundation, the Stocker Foundation and the Greater Lorain Foundation, the Lorain Bilingual Scholarship was established for Hispanic/Latino students graduating from the Lorain City Schools or transferring to UF from Lorain Community College who plan to enter the teaching field in a bilingual setting and who have a major/minor in a language other than English, and have a major/minor in education or plan to seek teaching credentials after graduation.

This scholarship was established with the generous support of the Nordson Foundation, the Stocker Foundation, and the Greater Lorain Foundation. In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Mrs. Lorene (King) Ashby '61 established the Lorene King Ashby Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Recipients must be full-time primary education majors with a 3.0 GPA or better.
Lori Kloman and Clarence Williamson NMI Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Lori Kloman 2013 by her beloved husband, Clarence. This scholarship was created at the University of Findlay to honor Lori's memory and their long-standing commitment to higher education and the field of Nuclear Medicine. Lori was a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (C.N.M.T.) and was a professor at the University of Findlay for nine years. She impacted the lives of her many students, fellow faculty, staff, friends and family. This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the one-year certificate program offered by the Nuclear Medicine Institute. They must have at least a 2.5 GPA in their NMI-UF academic course work.
Lucinda V. Peters Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Fund Drive, the Eastern Regional Conference of the Churches of God, General Conference, established in 2009 the Lucinda V. Peters Scholarship Endowment Fund. The fund is named in honor of Lucinda V. Peters in recognition of her bequest to the Eastern Regional Conference. This scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with first preference to a member of a church in the Eastern Regional Conference. The student must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and must apply for this scholarship through the Eastern Regional Conference Churches of God office.
Luke and Jeanne Bartolomeo Faculty Development Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Dr. Luke ’67 and Mrs. Jeanne (Helfrick ’66, M ’96) Bartolomeo established this fund to provide resources for faculty development for the College of Science. Dr. Bartolomeo taught chemistry at Findlay from 1976 to 2012. He chaired the Division of Natural Sciences from 1980-88 and 1992-94 and was Dean of the College of Sciences from 1994-2003. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from Bowling Green State University. Jeanne earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Findlay College and a masters of arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) and bilingual education from the University of Findlay. She taught in the Findlay City School System for 30 years.
Mabel Bauer Scholarship
Established through the estate of Mabel C. Bauer, the scholarship assists UF students with greatest financial need. Recipients must remain in good academic standing to qualify for renewal of the scholarship.
Mac and Billie McDowell Memorial Scholarship
The Mac and Billie McDowell Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund was established at the University of Findlay by Cynthia McDowell Lazor, in honor of her parents. Wilmetta “Billie” and Milo “Mac” McDowell who spent their lives contributing to the Findlay community. The McDowells were born and raised in Findlay, Ohio, and they brought up their own family there. Their daughter, Cynthia McDowell Lazor graduated from Findlay College in 1964. Mac spent 27 years with Marathon Oil Company and 13 years with the National Refinery Company. He was a veteran of World War II. Billie served as a Deputy Collector of Internal Revenue and was a Licensed Public Accountant in the state of Ohio. She owned and operated her own accounting and tax consulting business and a travel business. This scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in accounting or having an established interest in entrepreneurship or students within the College of Business. They must have at least a 2.8 GPA.
Mains/Stupi Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Matt '90 and Deb (Ryan '87) Mains and Ron '91 and Tracy (Buschor '91) Stupi, hereby establish the Mains/Stupi Basketball Endowment to support the Men's Varsity Basketball Program at the University of Findlay.
Majors James A. and Joan E. Sayer Service Scholarship
In honor of their parents, Mrs. Joy Sayer Shepard M’04 (Charlie Shepard M’04); Mrs. Joanne Sayer Fuller (Tony Fuller) and Mr. James E. Sayer (Alice Sayer), established the Majors James A. and Joan E. Sayer Service Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Jim and Joan have lived their lives as role models of generosity and service to others. Together, they have given more than 86 years of dedicated service to The Salvation Army. Thus, this endowment was established to extend that kindness and support to students who are building their communities through civic engagement while pursing their college degrees. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate leadership qualities and a commitment to serving others through volunteering as an officer of a University student organization.
Marathon Petroleum Corporation ESOH Operating Scholarship
Marathon Petroleum Corporation's (MPC) HES&S Division established the Marathon Petroleum Corporation Operating Scholarship at the University of Findlay to encourage the students that are seeking employment as Health, Environmental, Safety & Security (HES&S) professional in the petroleum industry. It is the donor's desire to strengthen the partnership between MPC and UF by graduating well-prepared environment, health, safety & sustainability students. Students may be in any year of study and must have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Margaret and Paul Palmer Family Scholarship
The Palmer family has established the Margaret and Paul Palmer Family Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. The purpose of this fund is to help the University remain a quality institution that nurtures dedication to community service, personal growth, and strong values, in addition to academic excellence. This scholarship will help the University attract, encourage and retain students who, throughout a lifetime of persistence and hard work, are among the most likely to improve their communities and exemplify the University’s highest ideals wherever their lives lead them. Recipients shall be students who have a strong commitment to strengthen a diverse set of skills, who will work hard to succeed, and who will contribute time, energy and leadership to a host of undertakings during their college experience. They will be notable more for their proven ability to develop and improve, rather than on their initial academic ranking among their peers.

The estate of Margaret E. Wetzler established this endowment to assist the University of Findlay faculty and staff who serve as advisors to student organizations on campus.
Marguerite Platt Winkle Memorial Educational Programming Endowment Fund
Sharon Winkle ‘72 and Clifford Smith established this fund to provide support to the Mazza Museum for educational programming at the museum.
Marie G. Sweitzer Scholarship
Established in memory of Marie G. Sweitzer, the mother of Dr. Beth Sweitzer-Riley, the Marie G. Sweitzer Scholarship was established by her family and friends in honor of her dedication to the teaching profession. Through her determination, Mrs. Sweitzer returned to college as one of the first non-traditional students in her era to earn her bachelor’s degree. Preference is given to a non-traditional student intending to enter the teaching profession.
Marjorie M. McGranahan-Mildred F. McGranahan-Shafer-Van Dorn-McGranahan Scholarship
The Shafer-Van Dorn-McGranahan Scholarship was created in memory of 1941 graduate Mildred McGranahan’s maternal grandmother, Mary Shafer Van Dorn (1862-1928), and her mother, Fern Van Dorn McGranahan (1895-1962). Their lives spanned an era “progressing” from spinning and knitting homemade calicos to purchasing off-the-rack, ready-made clothing. Both spent their lives as dedicated farmers. The family farm was started in 1902. The stewardship of the farm’s lands is the source of this scholarship. It is the donor’s hope that it provides encouragement to those who receive the scholarship to be aware of mankind’s place in the ecosystem — from the most intimate of individual sociological commitments to the biological-ecological effects of the whole. It is hoped that the scholarship recipient, in turn, becomes a “steward of land” wherever and however they may fulfill their days. Upon Mildred’s passing in May 2010, her request to add her sister’s name to this fund was honored; and in April 2011, Mildred’s name was added to the fund at the request of Marjorie.
Marshall Weldon Memorial Music Operating Scholarship
Nancy Weldon Perrine created this operating scholarship at the University of Findlay in loving memory of her brother, Marshall Weldon, because of his love of music. Mr. Marshall graduated from Findlay College in 1971 with a degree in Music Education. This scholarship is awarded to students in any major who participate in music activities at the University. Recipients may be in any year of study and have at least a 3.0 GPA or better.
Martha Draper Lape Scholarship
Established in 1996 by Martha Draper Lape, this scholarship is awarded annually to female residents of Hancock County who are pursuing business-related majors, are juniors or seniors, and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Marvin “Monty” ’42 and Jeanne K. Monroe Scholarship
The Marvin “Monty” ’42 and Jeanne K. Monroe Scholarship was established at the University of Findlay by Mr. Monroe’s family and friends. Mr. Monroe was a 1942 graduate of Findlay College and served as a member of the Board of Trustees from 1962-1980 and served as Trustee Emeritus from 1987-1999. He received his honorary degree in 1961. This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in political science or preparing for public service in government or politics. Mrs. Monroe's name was added to the fund in November of 2014. She was named a distinguished associate of the University in 1991. Recipient must have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Mary Alice Foster McDaniel ’35 Scholarship
Established through a bequest, the Mary Alice Foster McDaniel ’35 Scholarship fund was established to assist students with their education. The scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need and maintains a 3.0 GPA or better.

Established through her estate, the Mary Reick Endowment Fund is used to support scholarships for outstanding students attending the University of Findlay.
Mary Snyder Kirk Musical Theatre Guest Artist Chair Endowment
the University of Findlay hereby establishes the Mary Snyder Kirk Musical Theatre Guest Artist Chair Endowment Fund with proceeds from the Mrs. Mary Snyder Kirk Charitable Remainder Trust. Distributions may be made annually. This chair is in tribute to Mrs. Kirk’s love and support of music making and her devotion to the encouragement of young musical artists. It will provide a yearly guest artist of national/international stature to present a concert performance for the University and Findlay communities and to work/perform with the UF musical theatre students for a period of concentrated experience.
Mathematics Horizons Award
The mathematics faculty established the Mathematics Horizons Award to support a student majoring in mathematics. This award is to be given to three students based on the following categories:
a. Outstanding Freshman: The recipient(s) must be in their first year of study at the University of Findlay, and have completed a mathematics class at UF which will lead to their major in mathematics.
b. Outstanding Senior: The recipient(s) shall have completed (or are currently completing) the requirements of their mathematics degree.
c. Horizons Award: The recipient(s) shall be in their sophomore or junior year of study at the University of Findlay with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.50 in their major and an overall GPA of 3.20. The recipient should have completed at least 3 mathematics classes in their major.
Maurice and Reva (Staley ’36) Terry Scholarship
Established to assist students who are preparing for a career in education, the Maurice and Reva (Staley ’36) Terry Scholarship is awarded, in order of preference, to graduates of Upper Sandusky High School, a Wyandot County high school or an Ohio high school. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient maintains a 3.0 or better GPA.
Mazza Museum Endowed Salary Relief Fund
The Mazza Museum Endowed Salary Relief Fund was made possible by private gifts given to the Mazza Museum to provide support salary and cost of fringe benefits relief for the employees at the Mazza Museum.
McBride Faculty Development Fund
Established in 1989 by Dr. William J. McBride, former Vice President for Academic Affairs at UF, the McBride Faculty Development Fund provides earnings to fund the professional development of University faculty members.
Megan Florence Volleyball Scholarship Endowment Fund
Mike “Whitey” and Christy Florence established the Megan Florence 2012 Volleyball Scholarship to support a student-athlete on the volleyball team. The recipient must be an incoming freshman with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Meiring-Peck Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Mr. Wayne A. and Dr. Linda M. Peck established this scholarship in memory of both their fathers, Harold (Tom) Meiring and Everett C. Peck. Dr. Peck is the director of the animal science and pre-veterinary medicine program at the University of Findlay. Wayne is a financial adviser and owner of Successful Solutions. Recipients of this scholarship are animal science majors from Mercer or Williams County, Ohio, as first preference. They may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior years of study and must have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Michael B. and Sara F. Dolmayer ’54 Western Equestrian Scholarship
This scholarship was established to celebrate the lives of Michael and Sara in honor of all that they have given in years of devotion and passion to education, as well as their shared love of horses. This scholarship will offer ongoing financial aid to help young people as they work toward their life goals and advancing the love and care of horses. Recipients must be western equestrian studies majors in their junior or senior year with at least a 3.0 GPA.
Michael H. '88 and Anne A. '89 (Harrington) Mallett Basketball Endowment Fund
Mike ‘88 and Anne ‘89 Mallett established this endowment to support the Men’s Varsity Basketball Program at the University of Findlay. The proceeds from this endowment may be used for activities and/or equipment beneficial to the basketball program, or to provide additional funds to an assistant coaching position within the basketball program.
Michael Mumma '64 and Marjorie Rupert Mumma Scholarship Endowment Fund
Michael ’64 and Marjorie R. Mumma established this scholarship to support a BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color) student at the University of Findlay. The recipients may be in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior who is in good academic standing.
Michael Philip Willis Football Operating Scholarship
Jim and Betsy Willis, along with their children, David and Traci, established the Michael Philip Willis Football Operating Scholarship Fund at the University of Findlay in memory of the Willis' son and brother, Michael, who passed away in 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student with a 2.5 GPA or better who is a member of the UF varsity football team.
Michael W. Murphy Scholarship
The Michael W. Murphy Scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of Michael Murphy, a student athlete at the University of Findlay, who died shortly after completing his student teaching in English. The scholarship is awarded to students majoring in English/education.
Mike and Judy Tesnow Greer Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Mike and Judy Tesnow Greer Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 2019 by Mike and Judy Tesnow Greer in memory of Ervin A. and Rosina P. Tesnow. Mr. and Mrs. Tesnow were long-time residents of Findlay, Ohio and owned and operated Hoppenberg Machine Company and T & K Manufacturing for many years. They often did free work for the University and had a strong belief in the value of education.
Mildred (Kinsinger ’29) Kelly Scholarship
Mildred (Kinsinger ’29) Kelly set up her scholarship with a bequest through her estate for students with a demonstrated financial need and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Miller Adjunct Faculty Award
Bill O. Miller established the Miller Adjunct Faculty Award to recognize outstanding adjunct faculty members at the University of Findlay.
Minnie Perkins-Basar Memorial Music Scholarship
Established in memory of Minnie Perkins-Basar, the maternal grandmother of Dr. Micheal F. Anders, the Minnie Perkins-Basar Memorial Scholarship was established by her family in honor of her commitment to the importance of higher education. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to a deserving first-generation university student, regardless of financial need, who is an asset to the vocal music program at the University of Findlay.

Established in 1994 by James ‘51 and Nancy ‘50 Weaver, this endowment funds the preservation and restoration of Mazza Museum artwork.

Mrs. Carol D. and Dr. Milton E. Peters established this endowment to provide support for supplies, programming, and the overall well-being of the Peters Maker Space Central.
Mrs. C.I. Brown Scholarship
The Mrs. C.I. Brown Scholarship was established in 1987 through a bequest from Henry Brunner Brown Sr. 1914. It is awarded annually to a student at the discretion of the President of the University of Findlay.
Ms. Elizabeth (Betty Johnson) Harriss ’69 Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Elizabeth Harriss, a 1969 graduate of Findlay College, to assist students in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Ms. Harriss was inspired to help students further their education by her close friendship with Irene Sharninghouse, then-Findlay College assistant professor of speech. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time student(s) in good academic standing. Preference shall be given to students who want to major in theatre.
Multicultural Master’s Degree Scholarship
The Multicultural Master’s Degree Scholarship provides assistance to education professionals enrolled in at least two courses in the master of arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) and bilingual education program at the University of Findlay. Recipients must be committed to students who speak another language and the multicultural program.
Myrtle Deming Mazza Museum Endowment Fund
Patricia A. Bookwalter established the Myrtle Deming Mazza Museum Endowment fund in 2015 to honor Miss Deming’s many contributions and lifelong commitment to Findlay College/the University of Findlay. A 1917 graduate of Findlay College, she served on the Board of Trustees from 1964 to 1972. The annual distributions provide support a variety of needs for the paper engineering gallery at the Mazza Museum.
Nancy Borsani Operating Book Scholarship
Established by Nancy P. Borsani ’88, the Nancy Borsani Operating Book Scholarship at the University of Findlay assists single mothers pursuing an education and is used to purchase academic books needed for course work.
Nancy Erme Scholarship
The Nancy Erme ’53 Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman who has expressed an interest in competing for and participating in cheerleading at UF.
Nathalie J. Osmun Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund
Nathalie “Lee” Osmun ’70 established this scholarship to honor the nurses who served during the COVID-19 pandemic. This scholarship is meant to help support students in the nursing program. This annual scholarship is awarded to a student in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year enrolled in the University of Findlay’s Nursing Program. The recipient of this scholarship shall maintain a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 2.75 or above.
Nathalie J. Osmun Scholarship Endowment Fund
Nathalie “Lee” Osmun ’70 established this scholarship to help recruit and nurture emerging Christian leaders in the UF student body. This annual scholarship is awarded to a freshman, sophomore, or junior student who is a leader in campus ministry activities. The recipient of this scholarship shall have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.75 or above.
Nellie Fox Hutson Scholarship
The Nellie Fox Hutson Scholarship is a gift of Boyd G. Hutson and John ’48 and Audie (Miller ’46) Hutson in memory of Nellie Fox Hutson, their mother and grandmother, respectively. It is awarded annually to a deserving student.
Nellie Ritz Scholarship
The Nellie Ritz Scholarship was established through her estate. Eligible students shall be enrolled as students at the University of Findlay and be in good academic standing. Preference is given to descendants of family members of Nellie Ritz. If no descendants are enrolled at UF, the money may be distributed to any qualified student.
Nina Smith '09 Scholarship Endowment Fund
Nina Smith ’09 established this scholarship to help support a student who is black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC).
Norma Dirmeyer Bibler Scholarship
The Norma Dirmeyer Bibler Scholarship was established by Norma D. Bibler to recognize junior or senior female students who are preparing for law school or who have an interest in pursuing a career in politics. The scholarship requires at least a 3.3 GPA.
Nuclear Medicine Institute Scholarship
Through the generosity of NMI alumni and friends of the Nuclear Medicine Institute at the University of Findlay (NMI_UF), the Nuclear Medicine Institute Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in recognition of the program's contribution to the profession of nuclear medicine technology and to honor all individuals involved in the development and continued success of the program and its graduates. This scholarship is awarded to a student who is enrolled in the one-year certificate program offered by NMI and has a 3.0 GPA or better in previous academic courses.
Office of Development Educational Assistance Scholarship
In conjunction with the University of Findlay's 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the employees of the Office of Development, Public Information, Alumni & Parent Relations and Web Media Technology Services established this scholarship in March of 2009. The recipient must be a full-time student working in one of the offices under the umbrella of Development or working in any other department on campus.
Ohio Environmental Service Industries (OESI) Operating Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the board members of OESI to encourage and prepare young people for careers in the environmental field. OESI is an association of Ohio commercial hazardous waste management facilities and affiliated companies.
Oiler Heritage Basketball Endowment Fund
The former players, alumni, and friends of the University of Findlay established the Oiler Heritage Basketball Endowment Fund to help support the Varsity Basketball Program
O.J. and Georgia Huffman Scholarship
Mr. and Mrs. O.J. Huffman established this scholarship to assist any high school graduate of Hancock County not participating in athletics at the University of Findlay. The recipient must have a 3.0 GPA.
Owens-Illinois Plastic Products Division Scholarship
The Owens-Illinois Plastic Products Division Scholarship was established through the UF Horizons capital campaign by Owens-Illinois to be awarded annually as a merit scholarship to an outstanding student majoring in business.
P. Michael Lancaster ’83 Scholarship
The P. Michael Lancaster ’83 Scholarship was established as a lasting tribute to Mr. Lancaster by his family, friends and colleagues. Having majored in equestrian studies and psychology, he was a 1983 graduate of UF. As a student leader, Mr. Lancaster served two years as president of the Student Government Association. He was also a head resident for two years and a member of Aristos Eklektos, the campus scholastic honorary society. From 1984 to his untimely death in the summer of 1988, Mr. Lancaster was employed by the University. Working in different positions, he continually showed dedication and commitment on the campus and at the Center for Equine and Pre-Veterinary Studies. It is most fitting that a scholarship in memory of Michael Lancaster be awarded annually to students recognized for outstanding achievement and potential in equestrian studies and equine management. Recipients should have earned a 3.0 GPA. or better and be involved as leaders in programs at the farm and on campus.
Pam Hyland Scholarship
Established by friends and family of Pam Hyland in 2005, this award are made annually to a full-time student majoring in teacher education. Recipients may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and must have a GPA of between 2.5 and 3.2.
Pamela M. Hixon Memorial Nursing Scholarship (Operating)
The Pamela M. Hixon Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established by the son and daughter-in-law of Pam Hixon. Pam began her career as a registered nurse in 1970 and retired in 2010 as the Director of Putnam County HomeCare and Hospice. Her untimely death occurred in 2011. This scholarship honors Pam’s tender care and love she showed to so many of her patients over the years, and that was felt most by her close friends and family. This scholarship is awarded to students who are nursing majors, in any year of study, and have a 3.0 G.P.A. or better.
Patricia A. March Scholarship
Established by family and friends of Patricia A. March in 1995, the Patricia A. March Scholarship is awarded to students who are members of the residence life staff with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Paula and John Wolper Hospitality Management Scholarship
The Paula and John Wolper Hospitality Management Scholarship was established to honor the ideals that Dr. John and Mrs. Paula Wolper have brought to the Hospitality Management Program. This scholarship is awarded to a matriculated Hospitality Management student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and a penchant for the hospitality business.
Pauline M. Gowdy Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund
Ann Lowe established the Pauline M. Gowdy Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund in honor of her mother by supporting students who aspire to be a registered nurse. This annual scholarship should be in their freshman year of study with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Pemberton Basketball Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the University of Findlay's 125th Endowed Fund Drive, Jeremy L. Pemberton, Class of 1996, established the Pemberton Basketball Endowment Fund to support the men's basketball program at the University. He created the endowment as an expression of his high esteem for the work of Ronald P. Niekamp, head men's basketball coach from 1985 until 2011, and Charles A. Ernst, assistant men's basketball coach from 1992 until 2011, when he succeeded Coach Niekamp as the University of Findlay's head basketball coach.
Pharmacists Mutual Companies Operating Scholarship
Established by the Pharmacists Mutual Board of Directors, this scholarship will be given to an individual who desires to be a community practitioner. The preference is that the recipient must be from a state in which the company operates and express an intention to practice in this area.
Pharmacy Camp Alumni-P5/P6 Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voice to your Values Campaign, the University of Findlay's College of Pharmacy faculty and staff established the Pharmacy Campu Alumni - P5/P6 Scholarship Endowment Fund. This scholarship awarded to a UF P5 or P6 student who attended the University of Findlay's College of Pharmacy Camp and is enrolled in the Pharmacy Program.
Pharmacy Camp Enthusiast Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voice to your Values Campaign, the University of Findlay's College of Pharmacy faculty and staff established the Pharmacy Camp Enthusiast Scholarship Endowment Fund. This scholarship is awarded to an enrolled Pharmacy P5 or P6 student at the University of Findlay who participated in the College of Pharmacy Camp as a volunteer and/or counselor.

This scholarship is awarded to one freshman who attended a UF Pharmacy camp during their junior or senior year of high school and is enrolled in the pharmacy program at the University of Findlay.
Pharmacy Student Travel Scholarship
The Pharmacy Student Travel Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Charles Mosler, William Ruse and the staff of the College of Pharmacy. Charles "Charlie" Mosler came to UF as a faculty member in 2010. He has a personal passion for travel and mission work, and wished to support UF's Pharmacy students as they pursue educational and philanthropic goals as part of their pharmacy careers. William "Bill" Ruse is a long-time friend of the College of Pharmacy, serving as the founding Chair of the College's Advisory Board. Bill shares Charlie's vision of supporting student travel as a means of adding value to pharmacy education. This scholarship is awarded to UF P2-P5 students who are enrolled in the pharmacy program at the University of Findlay. This award is available for students to expand their academic career through travel associated with their program. The recipient must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or above.
Philip B. and Peggy Crosby Scholarship
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Crosby, the Philip B. and Peggy Crosby Scholarship provides assistance to an incoming freshman, male or female, who is pursuing their education through the University of Findlay Office of Graduate and Special Programs. Mr. Crosby received an honorary Doctor of Corporate Management degree from the University of Findlay in 1991. The recipient should show distinct Christian ethics and have leadership qualities as indicated by extracurricular activities in high school, preparatory school or through his or her place of employment to receive this scholarship.
Phil '90 and Joyce Kortokrax Basketball Endowment Fund
Phil and Joyce Kortokrax established this endowment to support the Men’s Varsity Basketball Program at the University of Findlay. This endowment can be used for providing player scholarships and for activities and/or equipment beneficial to the program.
Philip D. Gardner Football Scholarship
The Philip D. Gardner Football Scholarship Fund was established in 1991 to recognize athletes participating in the sport of football. Mr. Gardner received a Doctor of Industrial Management degree from the University in 1990. The scholarship may be awarded to an incoming freshman and is renewable for each year of participation in the football program.
Philip S. Willis Scholarship Fund
The Philip S. Willis Scholarship was established by Society National Bank, trustee for the Philip S. Willis Student Loan Fund. Preference for awarding the scholarship will be given, but not limited, to students who are graduates of high schools in Lucas County, Ohio.
Physical Plant Endowed Book Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive of the University of Findlay, the employees of the Physical Plant (Maintenance and Housekeeping) established the Physical Plant Endowed Book Fund to assist students in purchasing academic books. Recipients must be full-time students enrolled in approved majors at the University of Findlay and have worked a previous semester in the Physical Plant to be eligible.
Professor Harold Newhard Memorial Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, Dr. Jacob F. Froning established the Professor Harold Newhard Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund. Professor Newhard was a Mathematics and Physics faculty member at Findlay College from 1944-1967. The planetarium on the University campus is also named for Professor Newhard. This scholarship celebrates Professor Newhard's impact on Findlay College students during his time on the faculty. The scholarship is awarded to mathematics or physical science majors with a 3.0 GPA or better.
Professor Shiv K. Gupta Faculty Chair in the College of Business
This endowment was established by the family of Professor Gupta in honor of their father. This faculty chair position honors and recognizes the individual faculty members for distinguished service to the University of Findlay in the College of Business.

Pry Family Study Abroad Scholarship Endowment Fund
James W. Pry, II, and Janet Peckinpaugh ’74 established this annual scholarship to assist a student who is studying abroad with the Office of International Education at the University of Findlay.
R.M. Churchwell Scholarship
Friends and family established the R.M. Churchwell Scholarship in 1996 in Mr. Churchwell’s memory. The scholarship is awarded to students who are majoring in business. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA.
Ralph G. Whisler Scholarship
The Ralph Whisler Scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Whisler ’25 by his wife, Mrs. Bernadette (Case ’21) Whisler, now deceased. It is to be awarded to deserving students majoring in education or psychology.
Ralph H. ’42 and Betty B. ’39 Edie Scholarship
In honor of their parents, Colonel Halson Kent Edie and Barbara DeLong established this fund to help full-time students meet their financial obligations of attending college for a 4-year degree or completion of graduate studies, this scholarship is limited to those students with honorable service to the United States Military, is awarded based on financial need, and is renewable as long as the recipients remain in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Ralph L. Kuss Scholarship
The Ralph L. Kuss Scholarship was established by his wife, Catherine Kuss, in 1979 in memory of the founder of Kuss Corporation. The scholarship is awarded annually to an academically deserving student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Ralph Marlow Line ’27 Scholarship
Established by his estate, the Ralph Marlow Line Scholarship is awarded annually to a student majoring in philosophy or a related subject. The scholarship is renewable, provided the recipient maintains a 3.0 or better GPA.
Ralph Whisler Scholarship Endowment Fund
Bernadette C. Whisler 1921 established this scholarship in honor of her husband, Ralph 1925. This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Education or Psychology with a grade point average of 3.00 or above. The recipient may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study at the University of Findlay.
Ralph W. Gunnett Sr. Memorial Scholarship
The Ralph W. Gunnett Sr. Memorial Scholarship was established by Mr. Gunnett’s family and his grandson, Craig E. Gunnett, a UF faculty member, in 1991. Mr. Gunnett spent his life working in heavy construction and for the railroad in Pennsylvania. The scholarship is given annually to a junior or senior majoring in computer science.
Randy and Lisa O'Dell Championship Endowment Fund
J. Randy and Lisa O’Dell established this endowment to support student-athletes for their post-season competitions. This fund is used to support expenses involved in post-season play such as hotel rooms, transportation, and meals for students when traveling for games.
Rayl Family Community Service Internship Operating Scholarship
Bert '56 and Marlene '88 Rayl established the Rayl Family Community Service Internship Operating Scholarship Fund at the University of Findlay to support the students who are involved with the Center for Civic Engagement. The scholarship is awarded to a student(s) who has an internship with a Hancock County community or other non-profit organization that was arranged through the Center for Civic Engagement and the Center for Career & Professional Development at the University of Findlay. The student should exemplify a desire to serve the community through their internship role. Preference will be given to students who are involved in the proposed Lee Veterans and Community Center in Findlay, Ohio, or the Rayl Veterans and Community Center in Green, Ohio (South of Akron, Ohio). The recipients may be in their sophomore, junior, senior, or at the graduate level of study and have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Rice-Root Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Rice-Root Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Mrs. Treva Rice in honor of Robert E. (Bob) Rice ’40, and Dr. Yale K. Roots. This annual scholarship was established to assist a student in their senior year of study majoring in physics, chemistry, or mathematics.
Rich and Phyllis Smith Endowment for the Humanities Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the University of Findlay’s Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Dr. Richard A. Smith and his wife, Phyllis C. Smith, established the Rich and Phyllis Smith Endowment Fund for the Humanities. This fund will provide support to the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and in particular the humanities disciplines of philosophy, English and religious studies, with priority given to philosophy. Dr. Smith was a professor of philosophy from 1979 until 2013, serving as Director of the philosophy program for 33 years. In his classes he stressed the relevance of philosophy and the humanities for everyday life. He believed that the best college education involves an adequate grounding in the liberal arts. He considered it important for students to grapple with questions about ethics, the nature of reality, and the meaning of life. A strong proponent of interdisciplinary studies, he challenged his students to approach problems with an open mind and to think critically and creatively.

Richard and Karen Zunkiewicz established this endowment to support the operational costs of the band program.
Richard 'Dick' Crawfis Scholarship Endowment Fund
Mrs. H. Jo Ann Crawfis Baker established this endowment to provide scholarship assistance to a varsity athlete in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study at the University of Findlay.
Richard and Patricia Dudley Award for Excellence in Pharmaceutical Science Research Endowment
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Dr. and Mrs. Richard Dudley established the Richard and Patricia Dudley Award for Excellence in Pharmaceutical Science Research at the University of Findlay. Dr. Richard Dudley and Patricia Dudley have a strong commitment to the education of student-pharmacists and are passionate about preparing the next generation of clinician-scientists. To assist in this preparation, they established this award which will support doctor of pharmacy students in any year of the program. Recipients shall have a 3.5 GPA or better and display excellence in pharmaceutical science research.
Richard C. Gebhardt Essay Award
Friends of Dr. Richard C. Gebhardt, a long-time UF professor of English, established the essay award in honor of Dr. Gebhardt. Funds from the endowment are used to fund an award given to the freshman student who writes the best essay.
Richard E. and Barbara A. Wilkin Scholarship
This scholarship was established at the University of Findlay and is awarded to a student who demonstrates leadership qualities and a commitment to service (volunteerism and philanthropy) to the UF campus and/or community. Recipient must also exhibit good moral character and Christian values and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Richard E. and Jean K. Davis Scholarship Endowment Fund
The family and friends and the University’s physician assistant alumni established the Richard E. and Jean K. Davis Scholarship in honor of their many years of dedicated service to others. This scholarship was created to encourage students from locales that are medically underserved to pursue a career as a physician assistant.
Richard L. Bundy Sr. '59, Geneva J. (Keck) Bundy '44, and Melissa M. (Bundy) Crowl '01 Scholarship
The Bundy family established this scholarship to support students enrolled in an approved major at the University of Findlay who are from Northeastern Indiana.
Richard L. '69 and Linda Crowder Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Richard and Linda Crowder established this scholarship to assist accounting majors who are varsity athletes. Because Richard received financial assistance while attending Findlay, he believes it is important to assist and encourage students to continue their studies by financially supporting them. It is the desire and hope of both Richard and Linda Crowder that the scholarship money will help alleviate financial burdens of students so they can focus on their education as they study and prepare to enter the professional world. This scholarship is awarded annually to students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study who have a 3.0 GPA.
Richard Lee Couchot Football Scholarship
Richard Lee Couchot ’63 established the Richard Lee Couchot Football Scholarship to provide financial assistance to a student participating in the sport of football. Recipients may be eligible to receive the award for a period of four years, provided the recipient remains in good academic standing at the University of Findlay.
Richard W. Corner Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Professor Corner’s wife and friends to honor his dedication to students and his 26 years of service to Findlay. Professor Corner was instrumental in creating the computer science major and establishing the basis for UF’s computer operations. The recipient of this scholarship shall be a computer science major entering the sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Ritz Memorial Scholarship
The Ritz Memorial Scholarship was established through a trust from Dr. Gale and Harriette Ritz and his sister, Nellie Ritz, to be awarded annually to undergraduates majoring in courses oriented toward careers of service to others. Dr. Gale Ritz received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in 1963, and Harriette Ritz was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in 1991.
Robert and Sheryl Schirmer Vocal Music Endowment Fund
Robert and Sheryl Schirmer established this scholarship to help support students involved in the vocal music program and musical theatre. This scholarship can be awarded to a current freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study who is in good academic standing.
Robert J. and Janice L. Montague Service Scholarship
Dr. Diana M. Montague, a faculty member at the University of Findlay since 1986, has established the Robert J. and Janice L. Montague Service Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay to honor her parents. Bob and Jan Montague have served their lives as role models of generosity and service to others. Thus, this endowment was established to extend that kindness and support to students who are building their communities through civic engagement while they pursue their college degrees. This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences who demonstrate leadership qualities and a commitment to serving others, either through volunteerism or other forms of civic engagement. First preference shall be given to a Communication major with second preference to an English major. Recipients shall have a 3.2 GPA or better.
Robert M. and Catherine M. Pritts Scholarship
Robert and Catherine Pritts established this scholarship acknowledging the role an education from Findlay College/the University of Findlay has played in enabling them to have successful and fulfilling lives. Three generations of the Pritts family have attended Findlay, and Robert and Catherine Pritts desired to continue to support the success and growth of the University while aiding future students in gaining a quality education. Recipients shall be education majors and have at least a 2.75 GPA.
Robert T. Bradley Memorial Award
The Robert T. Bradley Memorial Award was established by his daughter, Marilyn Bradley, to recognize a student majoring in western equestrian studies. Mr. Bradley was an avid horseman during his lifetime. The recipient of the award shall have distinguished him/herself in the academic program as well as the co-curricular program in western equestrian studies.
Robert W. Brennan Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the University of Findlay Horse Club alumni in honor of “Dr. Bob,” a professor of the University from 1982-2002. Recipients must be in their sophomore or junior year and have a minimum 3.0 GPA within their equestrian courses.
Robert W. Peters Endowed Fund
Established through the estate of Robert W. Peters ’34, the Robert W. Peters Fund provides income that is used to purchase athletic equipment.
Roberta Stober Instrumental Music Scholarship
This scholarship was established through the generosity of Roberta Stober. Because of her love of instrumental music, it is her desire to encourage young people to take advantage of this opportunity and continue to grow in the music field. Full-time students playing a woodwind instrument are encouraged to apply. Students may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and must have at least a 2.8 GPA.
ROKI America Company, Ltd. Scholarship Endowment Fund
ROKI America Company, Ltd. established this scholarship to support a student majoring in International Business with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Ronald and Deanna Tulley Award for Exemplary Research, Scholarship, or Creative Activity
Drs. Ron ’04 ‘’19 and Christine Tulley established this fund to recognize exemplary contributions of faculty research, scholarship, and creative activity of a faculty member at the University of Findlay. The selection committee considers the following criteria: (1) holds a minimum rank of associate professor OR has completed at least 8 complete academic years of full-time teaching at the University of Findlay, (2) quantity/quality of contribution to discipline and/or general academic communities, (3) nature and significance of research, scholarship, or creative activity upon which the nomination is based, (4) external awards, honors, or other recognition of the significance of the research, scholarship, or creative activity, (5) the recipient is NOT a previous recipient of the Ronald and Deanna Tulley Award for Exemplary Research and Scholarship, or Creative Activity.
Ronald and Doris Niekamp Basketball Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Ron and Doris Niekamp established the Ronald and Doris Niekamp Basketball Endowment Fund to support the men's varsity basketball program at the University of Findlay. Mr. Niekamp dedicated 26 years to coaching Oiler basketball, retiring with a 598-185 record. In 2009, he led the Oilers to a 36-0 season and the NCAA Division II national championship.
Ronald and Marjorie Kruse Children's Educational Programming Endowment Fund
This endowment shall be used to sponsor the many educational programs developed for children within both the local and national communities.
Ronald C. Cable ’64 Instrumental Music Scholarship
Ron Cable ’64 established this scholarship in 2006 for students who are participating in at least one instrumental music ensemble with first preference given to members of the Oiler Brass Marching Band. The recipient should exhibit dedication to his or her musical instrument and a commitment to the instrumental music program.
Ronald C. Cable Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Fund Drive and the Give Voice to your Values Campaign, Ron Cable ’64 established the Ronald C. Cable Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. He created this scholarship to enable deserving young people to further their education. This scholarship is awarded to students who are graduates of Arlington High School, with first preference to an education major and second preference to an Arlington High School graduate in any approved major. Students may be in any year of study and must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Royal and Rosamond Kear Scholarship
The family and friends of Royal ‘45 and Rosamond ‘47 Kear have established this endowed scholarship to assist students in meeting the financial obligation of attending college. The recipients must be enrolled in an approved major recognized by the University of Findlay and must count toward a degree at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is renewable if the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA.
Royal Kear and Doyne Frommer Mazza Museum Graduate Assistant Endowment Fund
Established in 2006, this endowment will support a graduate assistant employed within the Mazza Museum.
Run the World Operating Scholarship
The Run the World Operating Scholarship was established at the University of Findlay to assist students that are pursuing their passion to study abroad. Scholarship awards are made annually and will be based off of the funds received through the Run the World annual 5K race. The recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or above.
Russel and Peg Armstrong Business Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Marguerite “Peg” Armstrong to honor her late husband’s achievements and success in their own business. It is designed to assist students who are majoring in business. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA.
Ruth Corwin Endly Scholarship
Through her estate, Mrs. Endly created the Ruth Corwin Endly Scholarship fund to attract outstanding students to the University of Findlay. This is a competitive scholarship, and recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Ruth Helen & William Frank Higgins Scholarship Endowment Fund
Dr. Candace Hendershot ‘00 and Dr. Jack Hendershot established this scholarship in memory of Candace’s parents, Ruth Helen and William Frank Higgins of Avon Lake, Ohio. This annual scholarship is to be awarded to support a nursing student in their junior or senior year with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Samuel “Sam” Fittante Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
Duane and Kathleen Jebbett hereby establish the Samuel “Sam” Fittante Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay in memory of Sam Fittante, a well-loved and respected entrepreneur in the Findlay community. This scholarship is awarded to a student who shows entrepreneurial excellence in business by starting, helping or assisting in the development of a business with at least a 2.50 GPA.
Samuel F. Reist Scholarship
Established in his memory by friends and family, the Samuel F. Reist Scholarship is awarded to a student preparing for a career in the human services profession. Sam was a 1982 graduate of Findlay College. The recipient must have a 3.0 GPA.
Sandra "Sandy" Sauer Memorial International Travel Scholarship
The scholarship was established by Christine Tulley, niece of Sandy, and her husband, Ron, to support students with their financial needs on their travels abroad. One of Sandy's true passions was travel, specifically travel outside the United States. In her lifetime, Sandy set foot on all seven continents and the world's largest island, Greenland. She visited nearly all of Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and large portions of North and South America, Antarctica and the Panama Canal. Well-educated and a prolific reader, Sandy believed in the promise of both education and travel abroad, seeing both as avenues to broaden the mind and enrich the spirit. She was one of the first women to enter the business computing program at Bowling Green State University in the 1960s, and she held many high-level executive positions including a software developer and a manger of IT teams with both Ohio Bell and Ameritech in Cleveland and Chicago. In her spare time she loved to read, listen to music, play the guitar and piano, and most of all to travel.
Sara Jo Aldrich Harrington Scholarship Endowment Fund
Michael Harrington established this scholarship to honor his late mother, Sara Jo Harrington by supporting a student in their junior or senior year of study at the University of Findlay who maintains a good academic standing.
Scarlett H. Reist Memorial Vocal Music Program Endowment Fund
Pastor William ‘73 and Judy Reist ‘89 established this endowment in support of an annual vocal music concert to be enjoyed by the broader Findlay community, along with the University of Findlay community.
Schmiedebusch Endowed Fund for College of Business Programs
Jon ’93 and Brenda Schmiedebusch established this fund to provide support to the College of Business for operational support for programmatic purposes such as the PIVOT Program, Oiler 10, student advisory board, BRITE Center, and others.
School of Pharmacy Dean’s Excellence Endowment
This endowment was established to be used by the dean of the School of Pharmacy to advance the academic priorities of the school. It shall provide the dean with the resources needed to achieve a higher level of excellence by funding activities over and above those funded by the college’s normal operating budget.
Sgt. Robin Vincent Fell Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Fund Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, the family of Robin Fell established the Sgt. Robin Vincent Fell Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Sgt. Fell, beloved son of Roger and Katherine Fell, gave his life in service to his country in Baghdad, Iraq, May 19, 2005. A college student majoring in psychology, Robin was also a devoted cross country runner. This scholarship is awarded to members of the University of Findlay's men's and women's cross country teams.
Sharon Everett College of Health Professions Endowed Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, George A. Everett ‘78, established the Sharon Everett College of Health Professions Endowed Fund in honor of his wife. Mr. Everett's experience at the University of Findlay has been so rewarding, he feels strongly that giving back is the right thing to do. This fund shall be used at the discretion of the Dean, College of Health Professions to provide support to the occupational and physical therapy programs.
Sharon Milligan Faculty Excellence Award Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the faculty and staff of the College of Health Professions established the Sharon Milligan Faculty Excellence Award Endowment Fund. This fund was named in honor of Sharon, who was the long-time director of health and education and taught at Findlay College/the University of Findlay from 1967 until her retirement in 2011. The award recognizes faculty excellence in the College of Health Professions.
Sheldon (’36) and Florence (Kling) Taylor Memorial Scholarship
The Sheldon W. ’36 and Florence (Kling) Taylor Memorial Scholarship was established in 1991 by their family and friends. The recipient must be a graduate of Findlay High School (within the past three years), have at least a 3.0 GPA, show leadership potential through involvement in athletics, music/theatre and/or student government. The recipient must also be enrolled full time.
Shirley M. Lloyd Scholarship
This scholarship was established by friends and family of Shirley M. Lloyd and through her bequest to assist young people to achieve a university degree. Mrs. Lloyd attended the Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, but was unable to complete her senior year due to financial difficulties. After raising her children and the death of her husband, she enrolled at the University of Findlay where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in 2000 at the age of 74. This scholarship is awarded to either part-time or full-time students in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study, who have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Shiv K. Gupta Business Scholarship
Former students and friends have established the Shiv K. Gupta Business Scholarship Endowment Fund to honor Professor Gupta’s dedication and guidance to students in the College of Business. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student majoring in business who exhibits leadership qualities and entrepreneurial spirit and is involved in campus activities. The recipient must have a 3.0 GPA.
Sigma Kappa Sorority Scholarship Endowment Fund
In honor of the 50th reunion of the Sigma Kappa Sorority at the University of Findlay, the sisters established this scholarship to support a student officer of the Sigma Kappa Sorority with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.30.
Six Disciplines Entrepreneurial Excellence Scholarship
Honoring their 20th year in business, the founders and associates of Solomon Software established the Solomon Software Entrepreneurial Excellence Scholarship, now known as the Six Disciplines Entrepreneurial Excellence Scholarship. This scholarship is to be awarded to a student who shows entrepreneurial excellence in business by starting, helping or assisting in the development of a business to help others become more productive.
Smith-Emlich Academic Support Center Discretionary Endowment Fund
The Smith-Emlich Academic Support Center Discretionary Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay was established through the generosity of Donna M. Smith. The fund is named in honor of Smith and her father, Justin Emlich, who instilled in her the importance of education. Mrs. Smith invested 26 years at the University as a faculty member and staff member retiring in September, 2011 as executive director of the Academic Support Center. It is her desire to assist with the advancement of the center in accordance with the mission statement.
Stefan Psychology Scholarship Endowment Fund
It is with deep respect, gratitude and friendship that Tena Madison Kirk '75 established the Stefan Psychology Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay to honor Dr. Edwin S. Stefan, Psychology Professor at Findlay College/the University of Findlay from 1969-1995. It is because of Dr. Stefan that Ms. Kirk remained at Findlay College and completed her degree. This scholarship is awarded to a psychology student in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and have at least a 2.7 G.P.A.
Stella LaRue Scholarship Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, Stella established this scholarship through her bequest. Stella retired after many years of teaching at Bath Schools in Lima. She believed education was very important and wanted to assist students in furthering their education. This scholarship is awarded to full-time students in any year of study with a 3.0 or better GPA.
Steven J. Klein ’95 Memorial Pre-Veterinary Scholarship
The Steven J. Klein ’95 Memorial Pre-Veterinary Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in his memory by the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Program, the Pre-Vet Club, alumni, family and friends. Any full-time student who is majoring in pre-veterinary medicine, has sophomore standing or greater and has at least a 3.4 GPA may apply for this scholarship.
Stevenson-Phillips Operating Scholarship
Dr. and Mrs. Jerry L. Stevenson have established the Stevenson-Phillips scholarship in recognition of Doc Phillips for their mutual interest in the field of biology and the potential to recruit and retain outstanding scholars in this program by providing financial assistance to students. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA.

Stoney B. Acres Operating Scholarship
This scholarship was established at the University of Findlay to assist Western Equestrian students with their higher education. Students receiving this scholarship must be actively pursuing a career in Equine (horse industry) and have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Student Leader Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, and acting on their strong-held belief that education is of utmost importance, Dr. Dan May, former vice president for academic affairs and David Emsweller, vice president for student services, established the Student Leader Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Scholarship assistance will be awarded to full-time undergraduate students pursuing a degree in an approved major. The recipient shall display exemplary leadership qualities through participation and identified leadership roles in campus organizations, community not-for-profit organizations, or other local, state or national service groups. The recipient shall also have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Susan E. Ford Scholarship
Susan E. Ford ‘68, established this scholarship to assist students at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to graduates of Findlay High School, (Findlay, Ohio), Upper Sandusky High School, (Upper Sandusky, Ohio), Rutherford B. Hayes High School, (Delaware, Ohio), or students graduating from any other other high school in Hancock County, Ohio. The scholarship will assist students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study who have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Technology Management Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the University of Findlay's Technology Management Advisory Board. Recipients are students with demonstrated experience applying computer and information technology in an interdisciplinary setting as evidenced through internship or research work. Preference is given to College of Sciences majors and minors.
Tennyson Guyer Memorial Fund
The Tennyson Guyer Memorial Fund was initiated by Mrs. Tennyson Guyer in memory of Tennyson Guyer ’34, who had a lifetime relationship with the University. His father was the fifth president of Findlay College, and “Tenny” was a graduate in the Class of 1934. He was a pastor in the Churches of God, General Conference, a state legislator in the Ohio General Assembly and a congressman from Ohio’s Fourth District. Mr. Guyer was awarded an honorary doctorate in 1954. Earnings from the fund are divided between the Tennyson Guyer Memorial Scholarship and maintenance of the Tennyson Guyer Rooms in Shafer Library. The scholarship is awarded to deserving students residing in his original district, majoring in business administration, communication, religion or political science with leadership potential.
Terhark Family Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Terry ’06 and Betty Terhark established the Terhark Family Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Scholarships are awarded to graduates of Liberty-Benton High School, Hancock County, Ohio, who are attending the University of Findlay full-time and are involved in extracurricular activities.
The Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Scholarship Endowment Fund was made possible by a grant from the Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Fund, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee. This scholarship was establish to encourage female participation and representation in the field of computer science through the University of Findlay’s computer science program. The scholarship is awarded to up to three female students enrolled in the computer science major. Preference will be given to students who exhibit potential to excel in the computer science field based upon academic highlights and involvement in extracurricular activities.

The Joseph and Judith Conda Tales for Tots Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay was established through the generosity of Joseph and Judith Conda. Tales for Tots is a story time tailored for toddlers and preschoolers featuring activities, sign language, and songs as part of the program.

George Whitson established this scholarship to provide annual scholarship assistance to a current freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study at the University of Findlay.
The Richard L. and Geneva J. (Keck) Bundy Equestrian Scholarship Endowment Fund
Richard L. ‘59 and Geneva J. (Keck ‘44) Bundy Jr., established this scholarship to support a student majoring in equestrian studies and is in both equestrian and campus activities. The recipient shall be an incoming freshman who presents evidence of participating in high school activities such as music, sports, clubs, and/or community and church activities, or have some background in equestrian activities such as 4-H, horse shows, etc.
The Schoenberger Scholarship Endowment Fund
Michael Schoenberger ’83 established this annual scholarship to support two students from Ohio in any year of undergraduate study who demonstrate financial need.
the University of Findlay Athletic Department Golf Program Scholarship
Established with the proceeds of the 1990 UF Golf Outing, the Golf Program Scholarship is awarded annually to a University student who is academically eligible to participate in intercollegiate sports and is a member of the University’s golf team. The recipient is selected by the coach of the golf team and the athletic director.
the University of Findlay Horse Club Scholarship
Established by the members of the University of Findlay’s Horse Club, this scholarship offers assistance to students who are Equestrian Studies or Animal Science majors. First preference is given to an active member of UF’s Horse Club. Said recipient shall be a full-time freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior with a 3.0 or better GPA.
The Whitson Family Hospitality Endowment Fund
The Whitson Family established this endowment fund to support a student, class, or program within the College of Business who are advancing their education with experimental learning opportunities.

This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students who exemplify scholarship, service and leadership qualities. Recipients may be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Thomas and Kathleen Donnell Broadway Concert Series Endowment
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign at the University of Findlay, Tom and Kate Donnell established the Thomas and Kathleen Donnell Broadway Concert Series Endowment Fund. The purpose of this fund is to provide yearly guest artists of national/international stature to present concert performances for the University and Findlay communities and to work with the UF musical theatre students for a period of concentrated experience.
Thomas and Mary E. Phillips Educational Scholarship Endowment
Mary Phillips established the Thomas and Mary E. Phillips Educational Scholarship Endowment to help support future educators from the state of Ohio. This scholarship can be awarded to a student who is a rising sophomore, current junior, or senior at the University of Findlay with a 2.50 grade point average (G.P.A.).
Thomas B. Donnell Business Leadership Award
The Thomas B. Donnell Business Leadership Award was established by Thomas B. Donnell ’70. Mr. Donnell received a Doctor of Financial Management degree in 1998. Recipients must be pursuing a degree in the business administration program within the College of Business, be in their third year of study at UF and have a minimum GPA of 2.75. In addition, recipients are to have demonstrated a willingness and ability to participate in extracurricular activities.
Thomas M. Pees Memorial Scholarship
The Thomas M. Pees Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Thomas M. Pees, a graduate of Dunkirk High School and former member of Hardin Northern High School Board of Education by his daughter, Debra (Pees ’80) Arce. The scholarship is awarded annually to a University student who is a graduate of Hardin Northern High School with a GPA of at least 3.2 and who is active in at least two campus activities.
Thomas, Kelly '03, and Kirstie '13 Ernst Family Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Ernst family to support students in early childhood education who also participate in the Marching Oiler Brass. Tom and Kelly believe that education is the most valuable gift anyone can give you. The desire to pay forward the blessings and opportunities afforded to their family because of degrees earned from UF led them to endow this scholarship and support the University. As their daughter Kirstie was actively involved in the Marching Oiler Brass and Symphonic Band, along with Kappa Delta Pi and S.T.R.I.D.E while pursuing her degree in early childhood education, it was only natural for this scholarship to be awarded with a tie to education and band.

The estate of Mr. Thomas R. Samson ’67 and Dr. Roseann (Keller ’68) Samson established this scholarship to provide annual support to a student majoring in Animal Science/Pre-veterinary medicine. The recipient can be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.00 or above.
Tibetan Student Scholarship Endowment Fund
In honor of the visit by His Holiness, the fourteenth Dalai Lama, the University of Findlay established a scholarship in his name to support a Tibetan student or a student with Tibetan ancestry.
Tim Trask Scholarship
The Tim Trask Scholarship was established by Findlay Publishing Company in memory of Tim Trask and is awarded annually to a deserving student pursuing a degree in philosophy or English with at least a 3.0 GPA.
Timothy H. ’77 and Melinda K. Nesler Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Anniversary Endowed Funds Drive, Tim and Melinda Nesler have established the Timothy H. ’77 and Melinda K. Nesler Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Tim and Melinda support academic excellence and the associated belief that education is an individual’s most prized possession. This scholarship is also a method by which they can share the excellent education they received from the University of Findlay. They established this scholarship to provide the financial assistance to qualified individuals who are pursuing academic excellence. Scholarship recipients must be a full-time junior or senior pursuing a major within the College of Business, a Dana Scholar, a member of either the Entrepreneurship Club or ENACTUS, formerly SIFE, and have a 3.7 GPA or better.
TLB Foundation Christian Service Operating Scholarship
Through the generosity of special donors, the TLB Foundation Christian Service Operating Scholarship Fund was established at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to students who exhibit Christian service during their high school years or during their tenure at UF and are emerging Christian leaders.
Tony and Joanne Fuller Basketball Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, Dr. Tony and Joanne Fuller hereby establish the Tony and Joanne Fuller Basketball Endowment Fund. This fund is used to support the Varsity basketball programs at the University of Findlay. Dr. and Mrs. Fuller own Blanchard Valley Veterinary Clinic and are strong supporters of UF athletics.
Tony Pitts Football Scholarship Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, Dr. Mark A. "Tony" Pitts '85 established the Tony Pitts Football Scholarship Endowment Fund. Dr. Pitts played football and ran track during his tenure at Findlay. He was a volunteer leader for the 125th Endowed Fund Drive and feels strongly about giving back. This scholarship is awarded to African American students who are members of the UF Oiler football team. Recipients shall have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Town & Campus Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive of the University of Findlay, the members and friends of Town & Campus established the Town & Campus Scholarship Endowment Fund honoring the 50th anniversary of the founding of the organization on campus. Town & Campus is a service organization whose purpose is to create and foster a closer understanding and relationship between the community and the University for their mutual benefit. This scholarship is awarded to a worthy student who is in good academic standing, exhibits volunteerism and philanthropy on campus and/or in the community and graduated from a Hancock County high school.
Travis '99 and Amanda '99 Comer Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voce to Your Values campaign, Travis Comer ’99 and Amanda M. (Fredritz ’99) Comer established the Travis ’99 and Amanda ’99 Comer Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Mr. Travis played football from 1996-1998 and was a member of the 1997 NAIA national championship team. In recognition of his experiences, this scholarship is awarded to students who are members of the UF football team and majoring in a degree program in the College of Business.
Troy Berry ’92 Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Class of 1992, along with the friends and family of Troy Berry, established this scholarship to support a student-athlete who is a member of a Varsity sports team. The recipient may be in their current freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study who has a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
UF Bookstore Book Fund Endowment
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, this fund was established with proceeds from recycled, used textbooks to assist students in obtaining appropriate textbooks for academic course work.
UF Graduate Research and Scholarship Committee Endowment Fund
The members of the Graduate Research and Scholarship Committee established this endowment fund to support graduate faculty and student research.
UF Student Emergency Endowment Fund
The UF Student Emergency Endowment Fund was established to provide emergency assistance to currently enrolled students who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses due to an unexpected emergency.
University of Findlay Arboretum Operating Fund
This fund was established by the University of Findlay Tree Advisory Board to provide a gifting destination for memorial and honorific tree planting and maintenance on the University of Findlay campus.
Valicor Environmental Services LLC
The management team of United Solutions Inc., who are also UF alumni, established the Valicor Environmental Services Inc LLC Scholarship Endowment Fund, formerly United Solutions Inc., at the University of Findlay in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the environmental program. This scholarship is awarded to an environment, health, safety, and sustainability major with at least a 2.80 GPA.
Van Swerigan Memorial Fund
Established in 1968 through the estate of Garrett Van Swerigan, this scholarship is awarded to worthy students who follow the principles of Christian living.
Vanda Nichols - AAUW Scholarship
The friends and family of Vanda June Nichols established the Vanda Nichols - AAUW Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay (American Association of University Women). Ms. Nichols retired from the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. in 1991, working in communications and public affairs. She loved to learn, explore and she traveled extensively nationally and internationally soaking up culture and history. She was constantly expanding her mind with music, programs and workshops, especially those of the Senior Forum at the University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to a female student in the College of Sciences S.T.E.M. programs. Said recipient may be in her sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and have at least a 3.5 G.P.A.
Varsity "F" Endowment
The Varsity "F" Endowment Fund was created through proceeds from the Varsity "F" Golf Outing (1991-present) held each summer. Two scholarships are awarded annually, one each to a female and male athlete participating in a varsity sport at the University of Findlay. Each recipient must have earned a varsity letter at Findlay and shall maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Velva Spencer Memorial Nursing Scholarship (Operating)
The Velva Spencer Memorial Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in memory of Velva Spencer by her children Joseph Spencer (his wife Beverly) and Maura Hartzell (and her husband Phil Hartzell). Velva Spencer had a long and fulfilling career in the nursing profession. Through this scholarship, her children desire to foster a love and dedication to the nursing profession amongst UF students. Recipients of this award must be nursing majors who demonstrate leadership qualities and a commitment to service though volunteerism on campus and in the community.
Vicki (M '05) and Phil McClurkin Theatre Scholarship
Friends of Vicki J. and Phil K. McClurkin established the Vicki (M '05) and Phil McClurkin Theatre Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay to honor their commitment to the UF theatre program. Mr. McClurkin was actively involved in the UF theatre program by participating in productions, providing sponsorship support and attending theatre productions before his passing in 2012. Mrs. McClurkin's commitment to the theatre program has included being an instructor of theatre, supervisor of theatre trips and director of numerous theatre productions. This scholarship was established as a way of sharing the McClurkins' passion for theatre and as an acknowledgement of the wealth of theatre knowledge Mrs. McClurkin has been so willing to share. This scholarship is awarded to theatre majors with a 3.2 GPA or better.
Walgreens Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award
Walgreens Co. established this award to help promote diversity among student pharmacists. This award shall be given to a student who is engaged in efforts to promote diversity and community awareness.
Wallstreet's Legacy English Equestrian Endowment Fund
Matthew and Stephanie Leddy ’10 ‘11 established this endowment to provide support to the College of Sciences’ English Equestrian Program. This fund is used at the discretion of the Dean of the College of Sciences to help cover medical treatments for the horses.
Walter L. Whithaus Scholarship
Family and friends of Walter L. Whithaus have established the Walter L. Whithaus Scholarship in his memory. Mr. Whithaus was a longtime Findlay businessman. This scholarship is awarded to a student from Hancock County majoring in business who has a 3.0 GPA.
Ward Family Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Dr. Chris ('96, M '98) and Mr. Gregg ('03) Ward established this scholarship to assist in the education of marketing students. This scholarship is awarded annually to marketing students having a 2.75 or better GPA and who are active in at least one extracurricular activity or volunteer with a recognized community organization or church. The Wards both have strong ties to the University of Findlay. Mr. Ward is the third generation to receive an education from the University of Findlay; his father and grandmother were also graduates. Dr. Chris Ward received a bachelor of science degree in business administration and an MBA from the University of Findlay. She started teaching full time in the College of Business in 2004.
Warner-Capra Scholarship
The Warner-Capra Scholarship was established in memory of Lucille Warner Capra and Frank Capra, parents of former English/women’s studies faculty member, Lucille Capra. The scholarship is awarded annually to full-time students who are majoring in English or communication and are sophomores, juniors, or seniors. Based on academic achievement, the scholarship is renewable if the recipients maintain a 3.3 or better GPA. Recipients are selected by the English faculty.
Wayne E. Baltzell Hospitality Scholarship
Established by Wayne, his loving family and friends, the Wayne E. Baltzell Hospitality Scholarship Endowment Fund assists students in the Hospitality Management Program at the University of Findlay. Wayne found a “job” he totally loved at the University of Findlay. He was the kitchen steward and purchasing manager for UF’s hospitality management program from October 2004 until his passing in November 2007. Prior to coming to UF, Wayne had a 43-year career with Marathon Oil Co. Wayne was in his element in the food area and enjoyed being with and guiding/teaching young people, as he mentored many at both Marathon and the University. This scholarship is awarded to full-time students in any year of study having a 2.75 GPA or better.
Western Equestrian Operating Scholarship
The Western Equestrian Operating Scholarship was established to assist students who show initiative in working hard on the farm. This scholarship can be awarded to a student(s) majoring in Western Equestrian studies who are incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
Whirlpool Endowed SIFE Fund
Whirlpool Corporation established the Whirlpool Endowed SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) Fund. Earnings are used to support the SIFE team at the University of Findlay.
Whirlpool Foundation Scholarship for Women and Minorities
The Whirlpool Foundation Scholarship for Women and Minorities was funded through Whirlpool’s Findlay Division and is awarded to a junior-year student majoring in environment, health, safety, and sustainability who has at least a 2.75 GPA and demonstrated financial need.
Whitson Family Hospitality Endowment Fund
Due to their dedication to the hospitality industry in Hancock County, the Whitson family established the Whitson Family Hospitality Endowment Fund to support the hospitality management program at the University of Findlay. The Whitsons hope that these funds can provide financial support for co-ops and internships at Whitson Properties, continuing education through seminars and speakers, and promote programming opportunities within this major. This fund shall be used at the discretion of the Dean, College of Business to support the hospitality management program.
William '91 and Dr. Julie '90 McIntosh
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Bill and Julie McIntosh established the William '91 and Dr. Julie Dean '90 McIntosh Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. Mr. McIntosh majored in business administration and marketing at the University of Findlay and played Oilers football from 1986-1991. He was a store manager for several area K-mart stores before becoming a human resources market district manager for Walmart. He received his Masters of Arts in Education with an emphasis on human resource development in 2009. Dr. McIntosh is an experienced public school teacher and college professor. She began her career at the University of Findlay in 2003 as an assistant professor of education and director of AYA/Multi-Age programs. She became the assistant dean in the College of Education in 2009 and was named dean, Jan. 1, 2010, a position in which she currently serves. Dr. McIntosh received the University of Findlay's Alumni Association's Old Main Award in 2001 was named a Distinguished Alumna of the University in 2006 and served as president of the Alumni Association Board of Governors for nine years. Dr. McIntosh was selected as an Ohio School Board Association Proud Product of Ohio Schools in 2013. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time education major with a 3.0 G.P.A. or better.
William A. Barton Scholarship
Treva A. Barton established the William A. Barton Scholarship in memory of her husband. The recipient is to be a resident of Hancock County, Ohio, in his or her third or fourth year of study with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
William and Lucye Hoopes Scholarship
Mr. and Mrs. William Hoopes established the William and Lucye Hoopes Scholarship. The scholarship is given to students with GPAs of 3.0 or higher who have a demonstrated financial need.
William and Marilyn Nonnamaker Scholarship
The William ’53 and Marilyn Nonnamaker Scholarship was established by William and his wife, Marilyn, in 1986 to be awarded annually to an incoming freshman from Hancock County who ranks in the upper third of his or her graduating class. In June 2007, in conjunction with the 125th Anniversary of the University of Findlay, Mr. and Mrs. Nonnamaker substantially added to the fund and revised the guidelines so that a second award would be given each year to a student in his or her sophomore, junior, or senior year of study with at least a 3.2 GPA. This student must also be a graduate of a Hancock County high school.
William C. and Betty L. DeWitt Scholarship Endowment Fund
Betty L. DeWitt established this scholarship to assist a student from Southwestern Pennsylvania (Indian Head, PA) or Northeastern Indiana (Auburn, IN).
William G. '67, Bette, and Mark Heidlebaugh Scholarship Endowment Fund
William and Bette Heidlebaugh established this scholarship to support students interested in assisting individuals with developmental challenges. This scholarship can be awarded annually to a student majoring in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or seeking an Intervention Specialist Licensure with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
William J. Butler Scholarship
This scholarship was established by friends and family of Bill Butler as a tribute to a man who so loved education and students. He inspired students by his example and by the way he lived his life from day to day. Recipients of this scholarship must be undergraduate education majors and maintain a 3.33 GPA.
William J. Jutte Memorial Scholarship
The William J. Jutte Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by friends and family in memory of Mr. Jutte. The scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability with first preference given to a student interested in cancer issues. The recipient must have a 3.20 GPA and demonstrated need.
William Rumbold WLFC/Findlay Media Network Scholarship Endowment
William Rumbold established this scholarship to support a student(s) who are working for, or actively involved with WLFC 88.3 – the campus radio station. The recipient may be in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of study with a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.00.
William W. Beall Golf Scholarship
Established by friends and family of Mr. Beall, the William W. Beall Golf Scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who is a member of the intercollegiate golf team.
Wm Max and Barbara Ann Nonnamaker Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th anniversary of the University of Findlay and to honor his wife, Max Nonnamaker '51 established the Wm. Max and Barbara Ann Nonnamaker Scholarship Endowment Fund through his estate. Realizing the importance of education and student support, it was the desire of Mr. Nonnamaker that by establishing this fund, he would make a positive impact on the lives of UF students for many generations to come. The recipient of this scholarship shall be a resident of Hancock County, Ohio, enrolled as a full-time student at UF in any major, and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Women’s Christian Service Council Scholarship
The Women’s Christian Service Council Scholarship was established by the Women’s Christian Service Council of the Churches of God, General Conference, to support Churches of God students who are pursuing Christian studies. A student must have successfully completed his or her freshman year to be eligible.
Worstell Family Endowment Fund
Paul Worstell ‘99 and his family established this fund to provide unrestricted financial support to the College of Education and the College of Business by supporting the on-campus consulting services for both colleges.
Worth H. Kramer Scholarship
Mary Trevorrow Kramer of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., the late wife of Worth H. Kramer, established this scholarship to honor her husband, who passed away in 1998. Mr. Kramer, born in Montpelier, Ind., and raised in Findlay, Ohio, gives off not a little light as a shining example of a man who became a success in the talent end of broadcasting — including as a performer, announcer and talent director — then switched over to become just as successful on the business side. Mr. Kramer owned radio stations in Ohio and Sarasota, Fla., and eventually held the positions of president and general manager of WJR Detroit and executive vice president of Capital Cities Broadcasting Co. at the time of his retirement. Mr. Kramer was also a past president and director of the Adcraft Club of Detroit, one of the most active and respected marketing and advertising organizations and the oldest, largest local advertising club in the nation. This scholarship is awarded to graduate or undergraduate students majoring in communication with first preference to students pursuing a career in radio broadcasting.
Yewey Family Scholarship Endowment Fund
Dr. Theodore Yewey ’57 established this scholarship to support students majoring in teaching, nursing, counseling, or religious studies with a preference for a student from Mercer County, Ohio.
Zahler & Associates Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the University of Findlay's 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to your Values campaign, Dennis Zahler '70, and Scott Zahler '99, of Zahler & Associates, hereby establish the Zahler & Associates Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay. It is the intent of the donors that this fund be used at the discretion of the University President in support of events and activities that recognize the achievements and work of the entire faculty and staff.
Zahler Family Scholarship
The family of Dennis and Dr. Barbara Zahler established the Zahler Family Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Findlay to assist students who wish to study abroad. Mr. Zahler graduated from Findlay College with a bachelor of science in education and business in 1970. He was named as a Distinguished Alumnus in September 2004. He is the owner of Zahler & Associates, an independent insurance agency in Fort Mitchell, Ky. Dr. Barbara Zahler is an education professor at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Ky. This scholarship is a one-semester scholarship to assist students in meeting costs associated with studying abroad as a part of their degree program. Students should be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study and have at least a 2.75 GPA.
